The PFWA’s 2025 All-Rookie Team was announced Wednesday, and Indianapolis Colts tight end Warren earned his spot among the league’s top first-year talents. It’s another feather in the cap for the 23-year-old, who’s already turning heads across the NFL-and not just for his size and athleticism. He’s also headed to this year’s Pro Bowl Games, making his rookie campaign one to remember.
Taken with the 14th overall pick in last year’s NFL Draft, Warren wasted no time making his presence felt in Indianapolis. He played in all 17 games, starting 12, and finished the season with 76 catches for 817 yards and four touchdowns. Add in a goal-line rushing score-yes, he lined up at fullback-and it’s clear the Colts found themselves a Swiss Army knife on offense.
What stood out most wasn’t just the numbers, though they certainly pop. It was how Warren was used.
Head coach Shane Steichen got creative, deploying the rookie all over the formation-inline, in the slot, even in the backfield. Warren’s ability to block, run routes, and pick up yards after the catch gave the Colts an added dimension.
For a team that led the league in offense before injuries took their toll, Warren’s versatility was a key piece of that early-season success.
Naturally, comparisons are already being drawn between Warren and fellow rookie tight end Colston Loveland, who was drafted just a few picks earlier by the Chicago Bears. Loveland had a strong season in his own right-58 catches, 713 yards, and six touchdowns over 16 games for the NFC North champs-and looks like a future Pro Bowler himself. But when it came to All-Rookie honors, Warren edged him out.
If Year 1 is any indication, the Colts have something special on their hands. Warren didn’t just flash potential-he delivered. And with a full offseason to build on that foundation, it’s hard not to be excited about what Year 2 could bring.
