The Indianapolis Colts are making waves this offseason with some intriguing additions to their roster. They've brought in two seasoned defenders and a former college basketball player who's ready to try his hand at football.
First up, the Colts have secured cornerback Cam Taylor-Britt and defensive tackle Jerry Tillery. Both players bring experience and a fresh dynamic to the team.
Taylor-Britt, standing at 5'11" and weighing 200 pounds, is 26 years old and was a second-round pick by the Cincinnati Bengals back in 2022. He worked under Colts' current defensive coordinator Lou Anarumo during his time in Cincinnati.
Over his career, Taylor-Britt has started in 40 of 47 games, racking up 203 tackles, seven interceptions, and two defensive touchdowns. Despite a rocky 2025 season, where he faced a Lisfranc injury, he's now part of a deep cornerback lineup that includes stars like Sauce Gardner and Charvarius Ward Sr.
Meanwhile, Jerry Tillery, a 6'6", 295-pound defensive tackle, adds depth to the Colts' defensive front. A first-round pick by the Chargers in 2019, Tillery has journeyed through several teams, including the Raiders, Vikings, and Chiefs.
His career stats boast 195 tackles and 14 sacks. Last season with the Chiefs, he contributed 20 tackles and 1.5 sacks.
Tillery is expected to compete for a spot in the rotation at defensive tackle, playing behind DeForest Buckner.
Perhaps the most intriguing signing is Carson Towt, a 6'8", 250-pound tight end who’s transitioning from college basketball to the gridiron. Towt played basketball at Northern Arizona before transferring to Notre Dame, where he impressed with his rebounding skills. His athleticism and size make him a fascinating prospect for the Colts as they look to innovate on offense.
These moves highlight the Colts' strategy to blend veteran savvy with fresh talent, aiming to bolster both their defensive and offensive units. Fans will be eager to see how these new additions gel with the team as the season approaches.
