Colts May Finally Have An Anthony Richardson Taker

Can the Eagles rejuvenate their offense by making a strategic play for a dynamic young quarterback to complement their star running back?

The Eagles’ quarterback situation has turned into a moving target, and the next few days could tell them a lot about how aggressive they need to be before the NFL trade deadline.

With Jalen Hurts injured, Philadelphia has had to make some tough calls in its quarterback room. Reports now point to Joe Milton getting the start against the New York Giants on Sunday, giving the Eagles a chance to see whether they can steady the season with what they already have in house.

The offense has been the main issue. The defense hasn’t been as sharp as usual, but it has still held up better than the other side of the ball.

If the Eagles can get enough from the offense, they should be in decent shape. If Milton doesn’t deliver the kind of performance they’re hoping for, Philadelphia could still look outside the building for help.

One name to keep in mind is Anthony Richardson.

After the Baltimore Ravens traded for Jacoby Brissett, Richardson suddenly looks like the kind of quarterback another team could circle back on. CBS recently floated the idea that Baltimore could have moved Richardson before making that deal, and the same logic could apply to Philadelphia, especially with Saquon Barkley in the picture.

“Anthony Richardson Jr. requested a trade from the Colts earlier this year. He hasn't gotten one, but the Colts are blowing it up this trade deadline, and even a late-round pick swap could be attractive for Indianapolis. A Richardson-Henry backfield certainly carries a lot of downhill running heft,” CBS’ Zachary Pereles wrote.

Richardson’s appeal is easy to see. He can hurt defenses with his legs, and he has one of the best deep balls in the league when he’s rolling. Whether he actually gets dealt before the deadline is another question, but the possibility is there.

Indianapolis also doesn’t seem to have much reason to hold firm much longer, especially with the Colts struggling lately and a quarterback change potentially on the table.

For now, the situation feels fluid. Philadelphia may get its answer with Milton, but if the Eagles keep searching, Richardson is the kind of upside swing that could enter the conversation.

Colts Trade Deadline Could Open A Bigger Role For One Young Playmaker

With the NFL trade deadline drawing closer, the Colts find themselves in the same waiting game facing a lot of teams around the league: if a veteran moves out, a younger player may suddenly inherit a much bigger slice of the offense. That is the kind of ripple effect that makes this time of year so intriguing, especially for clubs trying to balance immediate expectations with the need to see what they have in their younger talent.

One of the names to watch in that conversation is Seth McGowan, who could be positioned for a larger role if the Colts make a move that changes the depth chart in front of him. For now, it remains a speculative setup rather than a certainty, but that is exactly what gives the deadline its edge for Indianapolis, where a single transaction could quickly alter the path for a young playmaker waiting for his chance. Anthony Richardson Just Got One Last Chance To Change Everything

Anthony Richardson is back on the field this season after recovering from the orbital fracture that sidelined him, and the former No. 4 pick has made it clear how much the chance to play again has meant to him. Even with the uncertainty that followed the injury, Richardson has taken the field with a sense of gratitude, trying to make the most of an opportunity that once looked far from guaranteed.

For the Colts, though, the bigger picture still hangs over every snap. The team has not fully committed to Richardson as its long-term answer, which leaves his future as unsettled as ever even as he works to reestablish himself. After all the promise, the injury, and the questions that followed, this season feels like a crucial stretch for Richardson to show the organization it should keep building around him. [Read more 🡒]

Colts Face A Daniel Jones Deadline Decision They Can't Avoid

Daniel Jones has become one of the more complicated names on the Colts roster as the NFL trade deadline on Nov. 10 approaches. His 2026 season has been uneven, and the conversation around him now stretches beyond the box score into the bigger questions of how Indianapolis views its quarterback room, what it is willing to absorb financially, and whether another team would even be interested in taking on the rest of his deal.

The challenge for the Colts is that moving on is not as simple as shopping a struggling passer and waiting for offers to roll in. Jones contract makes any trade difficult, and the public backing he has received from the coach only adds another layer to the decision. Indianapolis has to weigh whether patience is still the best play or whether the deadline forces a harder choice than the franchise would prefer to make. [Read more 🡒]
