Bears Stunned as Colts Sign Simone Biles' Husband in Bold Move

Simone Biles husband, Jonathan Owens, departs the Chicago Bears for a new chapter with the Indianapolis Colts in the latest NFL free agency shuffle.

The Chicago Bears are facing a shake-up in their secondary as both starting safeties, Kevin Byard III and Jaquan Brisker, have departed in free agency. Byard is set to bolster the New England Patriots' defense, while Brisker will be donning the black and gold of the Pittsburgh Steelers. But the exodus doesn't stop there.

Veteran safety Jonathan Owens, known for his prowess on special teams, is also leaving the Windy City. Owens has inked a one-year deal with the Indianapolis Colts, as reported by NFL Network's Mike Garafolo.

Standing at 5-foot-11 and weighing 204 pounds, Owens brings seven seasons of NFL experience to the Colts. During his two-year stint with the Bears, he made a notable impact with one interception, two passes defended, a forced fumble, two fumble recoveries, and 68 tackles. His contributions extended beyond defense, with 476 defensive snaps and 504 on special teams.

Owens, who is married to Olympic gymnastics legend Simone Biles, has been a supportive partner, even taking time off in 2024 to cheer her on at the Paris Olympics. Biles, a decorated athlete with 11 Olympic medals and 30 World Championship medals, is widely regarded as one of the greatest gymnasts of all time.

As Owens transitions to the Colts, this move marks a new chapter for both him and Biles, as they relocate to Indianapolis. The Bears will undoubtedly feel the loss, but Owens' departure opens up new opportunities for him in the AFC South.
