Obi Toppin's Resurgence and Central Division Updates
Obi Toppin is making waves for the Pacers, scoring in double digits in seven of his last nine outings. After missing much of the season due to foot surgery, Toppin is finding his groove, telling Dustin Dopirak of the Indianapolis Star that he's focusing on the game rather than his injury.
“When I’m out there, I really try not to think about my foot,” Toppin shared. “Adrenaline is pumping.
Those lobs or putbacks are just reactive. It’s just about getting the ball in the rim.”
Despite his limited minutes, capped at 23 per game, Toppin is on board with the cautious approach. “It’s not frustrating,” he said.
“I trust coach’s judgment and our trainers. I’m still getting back, getting my feet under me.”
Bulls' Future Uncertain
Over in Chicago, Bulls point guard Josh Giddey is eager for clarity on the team's direction. With three years left on his $100 million contract, Giddey wants to understand the front office's strategy.
“Everyone wants to know what’s going on,” he remarked. “Are we built to win a championship or heading into a rebuild?”
The Bulls' recent 6-24 record over the last 30 games adds urgency to these questions.
Giannis' Future with the Bucks
The Bucks' future hangs in the balance with questions surrounding Giannis Antetokounmpo’s plans. Despite speculation, his brother Alex, on a two-way deal, isn’t in the loop.
“I don’t know. I hope he stays,” Alex told Toni Canyameras of Mundo Deportivo.
“We all love him here in Milwaukee, but it’s up to him and his family.”
Pacers' Injury Woes
The Pacers are dealing with their own challenges. Tyrese Haliburton’s recovery from an Achilles tear has been compounded by a bout with shingles, which he described as “awful” on NBA on Prime.
Additionally, the team is grappling with several injuries. Forwards Aaron Nesmith and Jarace Walker will miss Wednesday’s game against the Bulls due to a cervical strain and a low back bruise, respectively.
Andrew Nembhard and T.J. McConnell are also sidelined with lingering injuries, according to coach Rick Carlisle.
As the season progresses, these developments will be crucial for fans and teams alike to watch.
