Cavs Bucks Get Big Injury Comeback Updates

Amid key injuries and strategic roster considerations, the Cavaliers and Bucks navigate player comebacks while the Pacers weigh their future moves.

Cavaliers

The Cavaliers welcomed back a pivotal player on Friday, and it was clear from the get-go. Jarrett Allen returned to action after sitting out 10 games due to knee tendinitis.

He didn't waste any time making his presence felt, dropping eight points in the first four minutes. By the end of the night, Allen had racked up 18 points and 10 rebounds in just 18 minutes, leading the Cavs to a victory over the Heat.

Allen was thrilled with his performance, giving a nod to Coach Kenny Atkinson for the early momentum. “Shoutout to Kenny, he drew up the first play for me. I usually don’t get the first play sometimes, but he wanted to get me going, wanted to get me back in the groove of things and from there, things just started rolling for me,” Allen shared.

Despite being on a minutes restriction, Allen's impact was undeniable. Max Strus also made headlines, continuing his recovery from offseason foot surgery. Strus led the charge for Cleveland with 29 points, hitting 10 of 14 shots and sinking eight threes, marking another positive step in his return to form.

Bucks

The Bucks are facing a potential setback with one of their key players. Guard Kevin Porter Jr. is sidelined again with a right knee issue, and Coach Doc Rivers expressed skepticism about his return this season.

“I’d be surprised,” Rivers commented when asked about Porter's potential return. Porter has been limited to 38 games this season due to various injuries.

When he's on the court, he's been a force, averaging 17.4 points, 7.4 assists, and 5.2 rebounds. However, staying healthy has been the challenge.

With a player option on the horizon this summer, Porter's situation is definitely one to monitor.

Pacers

The Pacers are approaching a crossroads with some roster decisions looming. Rookie guard Kam Jones has a partially guaranteed contract for next season, and the team is considering options, including possibly extending his guarantee date for further evaluation.

Meanwhile, Ben Sheppard is making strides in his development. “I’ve been able to experiment within my game and my comfort level this season,” Sheppard noted. “Just trying to be more aggressive and take my opportunities as they come.”

As Indiana's roster tightens, upcoming draft decisions will undoubtedly influence how the team shapes its future.
