Anthony Richardson Under Fire For Arrest Comments

Amid legal troubles and team changes, Colts' backup QB Anthony Richardson Sr. speaks out after his misdemeanor marijuana charge, highlighting his personal growth and resilience.

Anthony Richardson Sr. addressed his recent marijuana possession charge only briefly after the Colts’ loss to the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday, with the matter still working its way through the legal process.

Richardson, the Indianapolis Colts backup quarterback, was charged with misdemeanor marijuana possession in Carmel, Ind., last week after an incident that led to a citation on Mon., Oct. 12.

The police report says he was stopped while driving a vehicle with expired registration that was also registered to a different vehicle. An officer reportedly smelled marijuana, and Richardson said he had been smoking in the vehicle so he would not do it in front of his children.

“Richardson then exited the vehicle and was placed in handcuffs as the officer searched his vehicle,” according to FOX59/CBS4. “The officer reported finding a small mason jar containing a substance believed to be marijuana and an opened bag of THC-infused gummies.”

The Colts responded last week with a statement to ColtsRoundtable:

“We are aware of the situation involving Anthony Richardson and are currently gathering additional information. We will have no further comment at this time.”

When asked by James Boyd of The Athletic if he regretted the incident, Richardson offered only a short response.

“I enjoy life. I don’t really regret a lot of things I do.

I appreciate my life. I appreciate God waking me up every morning,” Richardson said, per Boyd.

Any league discipline would likely come after the legal process runs its course, or if Richardson publicly admits guilt.

Richardson is in the final year of his original four-year rookie contract after being taken No. 4 overall in the 2023 NFL Draft. Last Monday, the Colts fired general manager Chris Ballard, which fueled trade speculation around a number of players, including Richardson.

He opened both of his first two seasons as the Colts’ starter, but in 2025 he was officially moved aside for Daniel Jones. Richardson’s season then ended in Week 6 after a freak accident before the game, when a bar holding a resistance band broke off and hit him in the eye.

This summer, Richardson had to fend off second-year player Riley Leonard for the backup job, and he ultimately entered the regular season as QB2.

Since the start of 2025, Richardson has appeared in just two games.

In 17 career games, including 15 starts, Richardson has completed 177 of 350 passes for 2,400 yards, 11 touchdowns and 17 turnovers, with 13 interceptions and four lost fumbles. He also has 634 rushing yards and 10 rushing touchdowns on 115 carries.

Pacers Suddenly Have A Tyrese Haliburton Problem Before 76ers Game

The Pacers injury report is suddenly carrying more weight than usual ahead of their matchup with the 76ers, and Tyrese Haliburton is right at the center of it. Indiana listed the star guard as questionable with left hamstring tightness, a development that matters even more as the team tries to build momentum after a rough previous season and continues working Haliburton back into form following his torn Achilles.

Indiana is also dealing with several other injury concerns, leaving the rotation a little more unsettled than the matchup on paper might suggest. Philadelphia, by comparison, has a shorter list of absences with four players unavailable, so the Pacers may have to manage both the game plan and the roster picture at once before they even get to tipoff. Tyrese Haliburtons Absence Leaves Pacers Facing A Brutal Early Test

Tyrese Haliburtons left hamstring strain has put the Pacers in an early-season bind, and the bigger issue right now is the uncertainty around how long theyll have to navigate without their offensive engine. Haliburton, who signed a five-year extension in 2023, has been driving Indianas attack again this season, averaging 21.8 points, 4.5 rebounds and 9.5 assists while setting the pace for everything the team wants to do.

Indiana is already dealing with another major absence, with center Ivica Zubac sidelined by a left ankle injury, which only raises the degree of difficulty for a group trying to stay afloat while key pieces heal. For the Pacers, the challenge is not just replacing production, but reworking the rhythm of a team built around Haliburtons playmaking while waiting for a clearer picture on his return. Pascal Siakam Had Pacers Fans Cracking Up With His Rick Carlisle Tribute

Pascal Siakam gave Pacers fans a quick laugh during a recent press conference by arriving in costume as Rick Carlisle, channeling the coach in a nod to one of Carlisles most memorable media moments from his days with the Mavericks. Siakam even taped his mouth shut to mimic Carlisles famous reaction to questions about officiating after a playoff game, turning a routine interview setting into a bit of basketball theater.

For Indiana, it was the kind of lighthearted scene that can travel fast in a season still finding its footing, with the Pacers sitting at 2-2. It also underscored how quickly Siakam has settled into the teams orbit, comfortable enough to poke fun at his coach while giving the fan base something to enjoy beyond the box score. [Read more 🡒]
