The women's college basketball transfer portal is about to heat up, and Indiana University's roster is already seeing some movement. With the portal set to open next month, three Hoosiers-sophomore Faith Wiseman, junior Jade Ondineme, and sophomore Phoenix Stotijn-have announced their intentions to explore new opportunities.
Head coach Teri Moren is preparing for some roster reshuffling. With seniors Jerni Kiaku and Shay Ciezki finishing their eligibility, Moren will likely look to the portal to bolster Indiana's lineup for the upcoming season. A standout candidate to watch is Evansville's dynamic guard, Camryn Runner.
Camryn Runner: A Prime Target for Indiana
Camryn Runner, a guard from Evansville, could be a game-changer for the Hoosiers. Her versatile skills make her an attractive option for Indiana's backcourt in the 2026-27 season.
Runner, originally from Cicero, IN, has been a consistent force for Evansville, starting all 67 games over the past two seasons. Her sophomore year was particularly impressive, as she led the Purple Aces in scoring (18.2 points), rebounding (5.6), assists (5.3), steals (1.6), and minutes (36.0) per game.
Making Waves at Evansville
Runner's impact was immediate when she joined the Purple Aces. As a freshman, she averaged 15.5 points, 4.8 rebounds, 2.8 assists, and 1.2 steals per game, earning the title of Missouri Valley Freshman of the Year in 2024-25.
Her sophomore season saw her break Evansville's single-season assists record and earn All-MVC Second Team honors. Runner also led her team to the MVC Tournament title game for the first time since 2009, earning a spot on the MVC All-Tournament Team by averaging 19 points, 5.3 rebounds, 4.0 assists, and 1.5 steals per game during the tournament. Her 76 points in the conference tournament rank 7th in MVC history.
Runner's two-year stint at Evansville was marked by her rapid ascent to the 1,000-point club, the fastest in program history. Her standout performance came on February 26, with a 36-point game against Drake, and she notched a triple-double against Belmont on January 29, with 19 points, 10 rebounds, and 10 assists.
As Runner explores her options in the transfer portal, she presents a compelling case for Indiana. Her talent and track record suggest she could be a perfect fit for the Hoosiers, bringing both skill and experience to Bloomington.
