Indiana Hoosiers basketball fans are facing another March without their team in the NCAA tournament. Despite a solid effort this season, the Hoosiers finished with an 18-14 record, leaving them just shy of the coveted 68-team lineup revealed on CBS's selection show. Indiana was one of the first four teams left out, alongside Oklahoma, Auburn, and San Diego State.
Preseason expectations had Indiana pegged to finish 10th in the Big Ten, and that’s exactly where they landed. Unfortunately, that wasn’t enough to secure a spot in March Madness this year. The Hoosiers also opted out of participating in secondary tournaments like the Crown or the NIT, officially closing the book on their 2025-26 season.
The last time Indiana graced the NCAA tournament was in 2023, when they advanced to the round of 32 under the guidance of Mike Woodson. That run ended with a defeat to Miami (FL) in Albany, New York.
Looking ahead, the Hoosiers are bracing for a significant roster shakeup. With six seniors departing and more changes expected, Coach Darian DeVries will be gearing up for a busy offseason as he enters his second year in Bloomington.
Meanwhile, the Big Ten is well-represented in this year's tournament, with nine teams making the cut: Michigan, Nebraska, Illinois, Michigan State, Ohio State, Iowa, UCLA, Purdue, and Wisconsin.
As the transfer portal opens on April 7, all eyes will be on potential moves and new additions that could shape Indiana’s future.
