The first Big Ten availability report for No. 5 Indiana and No. 4 Ohio State landed Wednesday night, and the early edge on paper goes to the Hoosiers simply because they’re carrying fewer question marks into Saturday.
Indiana listed no players out, with third-year running back Khobie Martin marked doubtful and second-year tight end Andrew Barker listed questionable. Ohio State, meanwhile, came in with six players out and five more questionable.
Martin’s status is the biggest Indiana note. He’s been moved up to doubtful after sitting out the previous five weeks. His last appearance came in Week 1 against North Texas, when he suffered multiple broken bones in his forearm.
Barker’s designation is a step in the right direction after he missed last week’s game at Nebraska because of injury. Before getting hurt, he had worked his way into a starting role and caught the first pass of his career in Week 4 against Northwestern. With Barker unavailable, true freshman Trevor Gibbs and second-year Brock Schott have handled bigger workloads.
Ohio State’s out list includes starting offensive tackle Austin Siereveld and rotational running back Ja'Kobi Jackson. Siereveld was a second-team All-Big Ten selection in 2025 and entered this season as a Preseason All-Big Ten pick. Jackson, a fifth-year back, has logged 59 carries for 354 rushing yards and six rushing touchdowns this season.
The Buckeyes also listed second-string offensive tackle Deontae Armstrong among their questionable players, along with third-leading rusher Isaiah West. Armstrong has played in three games this season, while West has rushed for 80 yards and one touchdown on 22 carries.
Indiana and Ohio State meet Saturday, Oct. 17 at Memorial Stadium in Bloomington. Kickoff is set for Noon ET and the game will air on FOX’s "Big Noon Kickoff" with Gus Johnson and Klatt on the call.

Ohio State Heads Into Indiana Showdown With A Problem Ryan Day Can't Hide
Ohio State heads into its matchup with Indiana carrying more uncertainty than a contender would like this late in the season. The Buckeyes are bracing for the possibility of being without key pieces such as offensive tackle Austin Siereveld and running back Ja'Kobi Jackson, a situation that puts extra pressure on a unit already tasked with keeping quarterback Julian Sayin upright against a capable Hoosiers front and a dangerous overall challenge.
Ryan Day said not every injured player is expected to be available, which only sharpens the focus on how Ohio State adjusts if the absences linger. For Indiana, that is the kind of opening a team wants in a big game, especially with Josh Hoover leading an offense that can make a defense work for every stop and force a shorthanded opponent to reveal just how deep it really is. Josh Hoover Just Strengthened Indiana's Biggest Case Yet
Indianas unbeaten start keeps getting harder to dismiss, and Josh Hoover gave the Hoosiers another sturdy argument in a tight road win over Nebraska. He guided a 20-17 victory with poise, hitting 12 of 22 passes for 263 yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions while adding 24 rushing yards on five carries. The result pushed Indiana to 6-0 and kept it sitting at No. 5 nationally, a place it has earned by surviving games like this one.
Nick Marsh was Hoovers biggest finishing piece, with the pair connecting twice for fourth-quarter touchdowns that swung the game Indianas way. In a conference race where every week seems to come with its own proof test, this was the sort of late-game execution that strengthens a teams standing far beyond the box score. The bigger question now is how long Indiana can keep turning those close calls into evidence that this start is for real. [Read more 🡒]
Indiana Enters Ohio State Matchup With One Clear Edge
Indianas week seven availability report leaves the Hoosiers with a little uncertainty of their own, as running back Khobie Martin is listed as doubtful and tight end Andrew Barker is questionable heading into Saturdays Noon ET matchup with Ohio State in Bloomington. It is the kind of midseason injury watch that can reshape game planning, especially when a ranked opponent is coming in with plenty of its own moving parts.
Ohio States report gives Indiana a clearer picture of where the edge might lie, with several Buckeyes players, including starting offensive tackle Austin Siereveld and running back JaKobi Jackson, listed as out or questionable. For a Hoosiers team trying to protect home field and keep pace in Big Ten play, the health gap could matter just as much as any tactical wrinkle once the ball is kicked off. [Read more 🡒]
