Indiana’s recruiting push under Darian DeVries just picked up another high-end name.
On Wednesday, the Hoosiers offered 2027 point guard NaVorro Bowman Jr., one of the most sought-after guards in the class and the son of former NFL linebacker NaVorro Bowman. Sam Kayser reported the offer, adding Indiana to a growing list of major programs already in the mix.
Bowman Jr. is a 5-star prospect in the 247Sports Composite rankings, where he sits as the top player in California for the 2027 class. Nationally, he checks in as the No. 5 point guard and the No. 17 overall prospect. His offer sheet already includes Texas, Kansas, Kentucky, USC, UCLA, Illinois, Baylor, and Tennessee, among others.
Bowman Jr. has been stacking up momentum this summer. Kayser noted that he has picked up recent offers from Indiana, Texas, Kansas, Kentucky, Arizona, Baylor, Tennessee and several others while starring for Team USA.
The family name is familiar for another reason, too. Bowman Jr.’s father played at Penn State from 2006-09 and was a two-time All-Big Ten First Team honoree. Penn State head basketball coach Mike Rhoades has also offered the younger Bowman, with the hope that he might follow in his father’s footsteps.
The elder Bowman was selected by the 49ers in the third round with the 91st overall pick in the 2010 NFL Draft. His pro career included four First Team All-Pro selections and three Pro Bowl nods across 99 games, along with 798 tackles, 14.0 sacks, 29 pass deflections, and 5 interceptions.
The younger Bowman is bringing his own resume to the table. The Sherman Oaks, California native is listed at 6-foot-3 and 180 pounds, and his athleticism and versatility show up on both ends of the floor. He also represented the United States U17 National Team earlier this year.
For DeVries and Indiana, the next step is trying to land an official visit from one of the class’s most coveted guards this fall.

Curt Cignettis take on Josh Hoover has picked up some backing from an unexpected corner. TCU coach Sonny Dykes acknowledged that Cignetti had a valid point about the quarterbacks performance, a notable nod in a debate that followed Hoovers move from TCU to Indiana and quickly turned into a broader conversation about what a quarterback can and cannot control.
