Former IU players kept turning up all over the NFL preseason in exhibition week 2, with a mix of snaps, tackles, catches and a few injury absences scattered across the league.
Fernando Mendoza got the heaviest workload of the group at quarterback for the Las Vegas Raiders, going 8 of 15 for 86 yards and an interception. The Raiders also got contributions from several other former Hoosiers: E.J. Williams had one catch for 6 yards, Roman Hemby carried the ball six times for 27 yards and added one reception for 3 yards, and Ian Thomas finished with three catches for 19 yards.
A few former IU defenders made their presence felt in different spots. Aiden Fisher posted six tackles, four of them solo, for the Houston Texans.
Marcelino McCrary-Ball had four tackles, two solo, for the New York Jets, while Micah McFadden turned in a busy outing for the New York Giants with 20 snaps, one QB pressure and one fumble recovery. Raheem Layne added one tackle, solo, for the Giants.
On the offensive side, Kahlil Benson started at right tackle and played 35 snaps for Kansas City, while Cam Jones had one tackle, solo, for the Chiefs. In Tampa Bay, Dan Feeney worked 36 snaps at center and right guard, and Luke Haggard logged 36 snaps at left guard. Pat Coogan handled 34 snaps at center for Tennessee.
There were also a number of skill-position contributions. Ke’Shawn Williams, who handled receiver, kick return and punt return duties for the Cincinnati Bengals, caught three passes for 42 yards and returned one punt for 12 yards.
Omar Cooper, Jr. caught one pass for 9 yards for the Jets. Elijah Sarratt had one reception for 3 yards for Baltimore, and Myles Price caught one pass for 8 yards for Minnesota.
Riley Nowakowski, listed as a tight end and fullback for Pittsburgh, had one catch for 10 yards.
The special teams and depth-chart work showed up too. Zach Horton played 21 offensive snaps and two on special teams for Detroit.
Nick Westbrook-Ikhine logged 22 offensive snaps and two special teams snaps for Indianapolis, while Trey Wedig took three special teams snaps for the Colts. Devan Boykin recorded three tackles, two solo, for Pittsburgh.
At other spots around the league, Louis Moore had one tackle, solo, for Miami. The San Francisco group included Kaelon Black, who ran eight times for 33 yards, while Kurtis Rourke, C.J.
West and Mikail Kamara did not play because of injury. D’Angelo Ponds also did not play for the Jets because of injury.
Jonathan Brady was waived.
Players listed finished their college careers with IU.

Lee Beebe is back on the practice field for Indiana after spending the better part of a year working his way back from the knee injury he suffered last September. The redshirt senior running back says he feels fully recovered, which is an encouraging development for a Hoosiers offense that has made the ground game a priority under Curt Cignetti.
Beebe is expected to join Khobie Martin and Turbo Richard in what should become a three-man rotation in the backfield, giving Indiana another experienced option as it looks to keep its rushing attack rolling. The bigger question now is how quickly Beebe can reestablish himself in live action, because his return could add another layer to a unit the Hoosiers are counting on to stay productive. Indiana has already put itself in the thick of the race for Nasir Anderson, one of the top high school guards in the class of 2027. The five-star prospect has trimmed his list to 10 schools, and Indiana is among the programs still standing for a player whose size, athleticism and all-around skill set have made him one of the most coveted names in the cycle.
For the Hoosiers, the appeal is obvious, but the fit comes with a wrinkle. Anderson would be joining a backcourt that already has an established starting point guard in place, which could shape both his role and the way Indiana pitches its long-term vision. Indiana Fans Just Got An Exciting Glimpse Of Their Future Passing Game
The high school football season in Indiana opened with a matchup that gave Hoosiers fans an early look at a couple of future pieces, as Brownsburg and Lawrence North featured Indiana commits Branden Sharpe and Monshun Sales. Sharpe made the bigger splash, turning in a strong outing with 4 catches for 88 yards and 2 touchdowns as Brownsburg rolled to a 48-25 win.
Sales also got involved for Lawrence North, finishing with 2 catches for 12 yards while spending time at safety as well. For Indiana, it was the kind of early-season snapshot that can be easy to overlook in the broader college calendar, but it still offered a glimpse of the kind of athleticism and versatility the program is bringing in on the perimeter.
