Elijah Sarratt, Indiana's standout wide receiver, is gearing up for the 2026 NFL Draft with a chip on his shoulder. Despite back-to-back All-American seasons and leading the FBS with 15 receiving touchdowns, skeptics remain.
Some question his athleticism or his niche playing style. His journey from a zero-star recruit to an FCS standout might give pause to some NFL scouts.
But Sarratt isn't seeking validation from the doubters. The upcoming NFL Combine in Indianapolis is a crucial stage for him to showcase his potential as a franchise player.
"Every day, I'm committed to putting in the work to be the best," Sarratt shared. "I thrive under pressure, whether it's making the catch or facing the drop.
Those critical moments, those 'money downs'-I want that responsibility."
Standing at 6-foot-2 and weighing 213 pounds, Sarratt fits the mold of a classic outside receiver. He's proven his ability to dominate in one-on-one matchups and make contested catches. His skill with back-shoulder throws and impressive catch radius set him apart.
Sarratt's stats speak volumes. With 39 career starts and appearances in 51 games, he's been a consistent force, earning All-America honors every season. Over three FBS seasons, he’s amassed 200 catches for 2,978 yards and 31 touchdowns.
Having played at nearly every level of Division I football and excelled at each stop, Sarratt has little left to prove on tape. As the NFL Draft approaches on April 23, the anticipation builds around when and where his name will be called.
While a first-round selection seems unlikely based on current projections, an early second-round pick is within reach, contingent on his Combine and Pro Day performances.
Regardless of when his name is announced, Sarratt is ready to channel any perceived slight into motivation. "I've always believed in my abilities and see myself as the best on the field," he said. "I'll use any doubt as fuel, but my approach remains steady and focused."
