The Houston Texans will head into Sunday’s trip to Indianapolis shorthanded, and the biggest absence is the one that jumps off the page immediately: Nico Collins won’t play.
After Houston wrapped up its third practice of the week, the team released its final injury report for Week 3 and listed six players out, including two starters on offense. Collins, who is dealing with a hamstring injury, missed his third practice of the week and fifth straight overall after suffering a reported grade 1 strain before the Texans’ Week 2 game against the Cincinnati Bengals. That same injury kept him out last week, and now it will do the same again against the Colts.
The Texans will also be without right guard Ed Ingram, who is still working back from a groin strain. His absence means Houston is likely to use the same five offensive line starters it rolled out against Cincinnati, with offseason addition Wyatt Teller stepping in at right guard again.
There is still at least a little uncertainty up front. Trent Brown was listed as questionable with knee and wrist injuries, though he was a full participant in practice on Friday, which is a positive sign for his availability.
Houston’s other outs include safety M.J. Stewart, linebacker Jake Hummel, and defensive end Jadeveon Clowney.
Clowney is missing his second straight game with a bone bruise in his knee, while Hummel remains sidelined with a groin injury. Stewart, meanwhile, had his 21-day practice window opened earlier this week after beginning the season on the PUP list, but he will stay out for the road trip.
He has been working his way back after being out for more than nine months because of a torn quad.
Indianapolis enters the game with a much shorter injury list. Cornerback Charvarius Ward is questionable with a groin injury, but he was limited on Thursday and then practiced fully on Friday, which points toward a possible return.
The Colts will be without wide receivers Ashton Dulin and Alec Pierce. Pierce is listed as their No. 1 receiver and is out with a heel injury, while Dulin is out with an ankle issue.
That leaves Josh Downs, Tyler Warren, and Keenan Allen as the main pass-catching names Houston’s defense will need to track, while the bigger priority may be slowing down the ground game led by Jonathan Taylor.
The Texans and Colts will meet Sunday at 12 p.m. CT at Lucas Oil Stadium in the first of two matchups between the teams in the 2026 season. Houston will be trying to make it six straight wins over Indianapolis.
