Texans Eye Veteran WRs: Which Star Will Join Their Ranks?

Texans weigh their options as three seasoned wide receivers emerge as potential key additions to the roster.

The Houston Texans are on the hunt for a veteran wide receiver to bolster their roster. After trying out Christian Kirk last season and seeing Stefon Diggs' production in 2024, the team is eager to enhance their receiving corps.

Although they were linked to Tampa Bay legend Mike Evans, he ultimately signed with the 49ers. Now, the Texans are eyeing three potential targets: Keenan Allen, Nick Westbrook-Ikhine, and Marquise “Hollywood” Brown.

Keenan Allen

Keenan Allen has been on the Texans' radar for a couple of seasons. Back in 2024, they attempted to trade for him but missed out as he went to the Bears.

Despite that, Allen's consistent performance makes him a strong candidate. Last season with the Chargers, he recorded 81 receptions for 777 yards and four touchdowns.

Even at 33, Allen's experience and skill could make him a valuable asset in Houston's passing game. With a projected salary of $6.8 million, he offers both talent and a reasonable price.

Nick Westbrook-Ikhine

Nick Westbrook-Ikhine, formerly with the Dolphins, is familiar with the AFC South from his time with the Titans. His standout year came in 2024, where he notched 497 receiving yards and nine touchdowns.

Although his numbers dipped in Miami, partly due to quarterback issues, his potential remains clear. Westbrook-Ikhine could complement Houston's current roster, adding depth and a vertical threat.

His projected value is around $3.1 million, making him an attractive option for the Texans.

Marquise “Hollywood” Brown

Marquise Brown, known for his speed and agility, is another intriguing possibility. After missing 2024 due to injury, he bounced back with the Chiefs in 2025.

His ability to stretch the field could make him a perfect fit for Houston's offense. Brown's presence would add a dynamic element to the Texans' receiving unit, potentially elevating them to one of the league's most exciting groups.

With a projected value of $5.5 million, Brown is a tempting target for Houston as they look to make a splash in free agency.

In pursuit of strengthening their roster, the Texans have viable options in Allen, Westbrook-Ikhine, and Brown. Each brings unique skills and experience that could significantly impact the team's performance in the upcoming season.
