Texans Activate Harrison Bryant After Roster Shakeup Involving Key Offensive Player

With key roster moves ahead of game day, the Texans shuffle their lineup as Harrison Bryant returns and injury concerns mount.

The Texans are getting a little healthier - and a little deeper - as they head into a crucial stretch of the season.

On Saturday, the team activated tight end Harrison Bryant from injured reserve. Bryant had been sidelined with neck and shoulder injuries but was designated to return earlier this week. After ramping up in practice, he’s officially back on the 53-man roster.

It’s a modest statistical season for Bryant so far - just two catches for 7 yards in eight games - but his return gives Houston another option at tight end, particularly in blocking situations and short-yardage packages. He’s a reliable depth piece who knows the system and can contribute in the trenches, even if the box score doesn’t always show it.

To make room for Bryant, the Texans waived running back Cody Schrader. Schrader had just joined the team this week via waivers and practiced over the past three days, but with the running back room in flux, the Texans opted to go in a different direction.

Houston also made a couple of game-day elevations from the practice squad, bringing up running back Jawhar Jordan and safety K’Von Wallace.

Jordan’s elevation is a strategic one, especially with Nick Chubb listed as questionable due to a rib injury. If Chubb can’t go or is limited, Jordan could see some snaps behind the starters. He brings some burst and change-of-pace potential to the backfield - a useful tool if the Texans want to keep their ground game dynamic.

On the defensive side, Wallace adds needed depth in the secondary. With both Jaylen Reed and M.J.

Stewart on injured reserve, the Texans are light at safety. Wallace steps in as a plug-and-play option who can contribute on special teams and in sub-packages if needed.

These are the kind of roster moves that don’t always make headlines but can quietly shape a game - or even a season. As the Texans gear up for the final stretch, every healthy body and every depth piece matters.
