Panthers Suddenly Have A Real Chance To Stun The Eagles

As Week 6 approaches, experts reveal their top NFL upset predictions, including a compelling case for the Titans to exploit the Colts' vulnerabilities in pursuit of their first win.

The upset board in Week 6 has a little something for everyone, but the most interesting pick might be the Titans finally breaking through and handing the Colts another hit in the AFC South.

That call makes plenty of sense if you look past the records and into the numbers. Tennessee and Indianapolis are closer than the standings suggest, and in a few key areas the Titans actually hold the edge. One of the biggest is net yards per play, where Tennessee sits at -0.7 while the Colts are second-last in the NFL at -1.6.

The game could also tilt toward Tennessee’s style. The Titans have the second-highest run frequency in neutral game states, so when the situation is still relatively balanced, they want to keep pounding the ball.

That matters here because Indianapolis has been a mess against the run, ranking last in the NFL in opponent rush EPA and 30th in opponent run success rate. Tennessee, by comparison, is 16th and 11th in those same run defense categories.

That’s the kind of matchup that can help keep Jonathan Taylor from taking over, and that remains the big key to beating the Colts.

Another writer is looking to the Panthers as a live upset play against Philadelphia, and this one is built on a simple idea: the Eagles offense has been way too easy to doubt. Carolina is only a 1.5-point underdog, but the case goes beyond the spread.

Saquon Barkley and DeVonta Smith are dealing with soft-tissue injuries, and Philadelphia’s numbers have been ugly across the board. The Eagles rank 30th in EPA/Play, 31st in success rate and 31st in yards per play.

Only the Tennessee Titans, at 0-5, are averaging fewer yards per play.

The Panthers’ offense has quietly produced much better underlying results. Bryce Young and company are eighth in EPA/Play, sixth in EPA/Pass and fifth in yards per play, and that opens the door for Carolina to score enough to stress an Eagles team that has not been sharp on defense either. Philadelphia is 17th in yards per play allowed and 22nd in both EPA/Play and success rate on defense, and both of those advanced marks trail Carolina’s defense this season.

The scheduling spot also leans the Panthers’ way. Carolina is coming off a bye, while Philadelphia is dealing with a difficult travel week after coming back from London. Put it all together, and the pick is Carolina pulling the upset in Week 6.

There’s also a Texans pick in the mix, with the idea being that Houston’s recent bounce and the arrival of Marvin Harrison Jr. give C.J. Stroud a new layer to work with.

The Texans got confidence from beating up on Tennessee and landing Harrison in a trade with Arizona. Stroud has often been at his best when Nico Collins is on the field, but Harrison gives him another target and a familiar one, since the two played together at Ohio State.

Just as important, Houston’s defense is back on track, which could be a problem for an inconsistent Trevor Lawrence.

Texans May Have Found The Explosive Back C.J. Stroud Needs

A big-play runner can change the feel of an offense in a hurry, and Louisvilles Isaac Brown is starting to look like the kind of back who can do that. He flashed it in Week 6 of 2026 with 235 rushing yards, two touchdowns and a 97-yard scoring burst, the sort of line that immediately puts him on the radar for the 2027 NFL Draft. For teams looking for more than steady production out of the backfield, Browns speed and elusiveness are the traits that jump off the tape.

For Houston, the appeal is obvious. The Texans still need more juice on the ground, and pairing a slashing runner like Brown with power back David Montgomery would give C.J. Stroud a different kind of help than the offense has had in recent seasons. The question with Brown, as it often is with speed-first prospects, is whether his frame and play style will hold up against NFL tacklers, but the upside is easy to see for a team that could use a true explosive threat. Marvin Harrison Jr. Trade Just Reignited A Cardinals Value Debate

The Chiefs spent time monitoring the wide receiver market, but when Marvin Harrison Jr. became available, they never moved from interested observer to true bidder. Even with injuries thinning out the receiving room, Kansas City did not get to the point where it was willing to match the offer Houston put on the table, a package built around a second-round pick and a sixth-rounder.

For the Texans, the price reflects how aggressively they wanted to act on a player with obvious value around the league. Arizona sent Harrison and a 2027 seventh-round pick to Houston in exchange for those draft selections, a move that has already started stirring the usual debate about what a receiver of his stature is really worth in todays market. Texans Defense Could Get A Needed Boost Sooner Than Expected

Houstons defense may be getting a reinforcement back sooner than it first seemed. Linebacker Henry To'oTo'o, who has spent the season on injured reserve after a shoulder injury in Week 1, is set to have his 21-day practice window opened, giving the Texans a chance to work him back into the mix and potentially add him to the lineup in the coming weeks.

General manager Nick Caserio confirmed the update in a recent interview, and the timing gives the team some flexibility as it weighs urgency against caution. To'oTo'o could be available as early as Week 6, but there is also a real possibility the Texans wait until after the bye week to make sure he is fully recovered before putting him back on the field.
