Kevin Durant spent part of MLB All-Star week in Philadelphia praising Phillies fans, but he also found time to go after two familiar NBA voices.
The Rockets All-Star took aim at Fox Sports 1 analysts Colin Cowherd and Nick Wright on his Instagram story, according to The Athletic’s Devon Henderson. Durant did not soften the message.
“Pack that lame (Colin Cowherd) up,” Durant wrote.
He followed that by turning his attention to Wright.
“Basketball would actually move forward if (Nick Wright) wasn’t involved. Hold up,” Durant added.
Durant has never been shy about firing back at media members, and Cowherd and Wright are just the latest names to land in his crosshairs. ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith has been there before, too.
“I don’t talk to Stephen A. Smith at all.
Nobody in my family - my friends - they don’t talk to Stephen A. Smith.
So, he’s lying.”
Durant also addressed the free-agency rumors swirling around him at the time with another swipe at Smith.
“If you ask me a question, I’ll talk about them,” Durant told reporters in 2015. “But like I said before, I have people who I talk to about everything, and I know for a fact they didn’t talk to him, so he’s making up stories.”
Smith didn’t let that slide then, either. He answered with an on-air rant on “First Take” and delivered a thinly veiled warning.
“You don’t want to make an enemy out of me,” Smith said.
Now the question is whether Cowherd and Wright will answer back.

Kevin Durant Just Addressed The Rockets Rumor Fans Feared Most
Kevin Durant spent part of MLB All-Star week in Philadelphia talking basketball, and the conversation naturally drifted to the kind of roster movement that keeps the NBA in constant motion. Speaking with NBCS, Durant showed respect for the citys fans, calling them passionate and treating the trash talk as part of the fun, while also sizing up the 76ers as a more dangerous team after Jaylen Browns arrival.
For Houston, the more relevant part of the exchange was Durant acknowledging that his own name still lives in the rumor mill. He did not sound alarmed by the noise, and the message around the Rockets remains the same: unless something truly franchise-altering materializes, the expectation is that Durant stays put while the rest of the league keeps guessing about the next big move. Kevin Durant Just Added More Intrigue To LeBron's Looming Decision
Kevin Durant didnt offer any hints about LeBron James next stop, but he did add to the buzz surrounding a decision that appears to be coming soon. The Rockets forward said he does not know where James will sign in free agency, while also making clear he expects James to keep producing at a high level no matter where he lands. For Houston, its another reminder that one of the leagues biggest names is still looming over the offseason conversation.
James is set to be around Fanatics Fest in New York, where he is expected to take part in a podcast recording on Thursday and shoot a show on Friday, only adding to the speculation around an announcement. Durants view was simple enough: wherever James ends up, he will still be a force, and the team that gets him will be better for it. The only real question left is where that will be. [Read more 🡒]
