Kevin Durant didn’t need a game to give fans something to chew on. While in Philadelphia for the MLB All-Star Game, he sat down with John Clark of NBCS and touched on a few topics that always get people talking: the city’s fans, Jaylen Brown’s trade to the 76ers, and what might be next for LeBron James.
Durant had plenty to say about Philadelphia’s crowd, and he didn’t hold back on the energy in the building.
“Philly fans, man, they got the most passion. It’s up there. I think everyone on the East Coast is pretty passionate, from New York, Boston, Philly, usually those three are the most radical fans when it comes to being loud at the ballpark or the arena,” said Durant initially on the atmosphere at the All-Star Game in Philadelphia.
He also explained why the back-and-forth with fans doesn’t bother him.
“Yeah, sometimes, it’s all in good fun,” said Durant on whether he trash-talks with Philadelphia fans. “It’s respect, because when they start talking to you, that means they respect you, you know. They fear you a little bit.”
“So you can hear it in their voice, the ones that respect you and the ones that don’t. It all tips on that line of respect for me. So it’s all cool, it’s a fun exchange.”
For Durant, those exchanges are just part of the job, whether they happen in person or online, as long as there’s some level of respect attached to it.
From there, the conversation turned to Jaylen Brown’s move to the 76ers, and Durant sounded bullish on what Brown brings to Philadelphia.
“Dangerous, dangerous, dangerous. It’s gonna be exciting, I’m happy for him. It’s a fresh start, and Philly fans are going to love him,” said Durant, who later said he wasn’t stunned to hear the news.
“Nah, you can’t be stunned, it’s the NBA. Luka Doncic got traded in the middle of the night. Nothing is out of the realm for me anymore as an NBA player.”
Durant’s reaction fits the reality of a league where even stars in their prime can be moved without warning. The article also noted that the last time Brown was part of trade chatter, it was in 2022, when Durant requested a trade from the Nets.
There was also mention of a three-team deal that had been discussed, one that would have sent Durant and Alperen Sengun from the Rockets and brought Brown and draft assets back. The Rockets reportedly passed on that framework.
Clark then asked Durant about LeBron James, and Durant didn’t pretend to have a read on where James is headed.
“I have no clue. Wherever he goes, he’s going to ball out.
He’s going to prove he has a lot left in the tank at 42 years old. Any team is going to be better because of him,” Durant said.
The possibility of James staying in the West could set up another playoff meeting between the two. Durant missed most of the Rockets’ first-round series against the Lakers last season, appearing in only one game, but the reporting here suggests James is leaning toward the Eastern Conference.
Durant also had his own name floating around in summer trade chatter, with the Pistons emerging as a possible suitor. Still, the signs currently point to him staying in Houston.
Even so, Durant made the point that nothing in today’s NBA should really surprise anyone. The Rockets’ front office was said to be open to offers for its All-Stars, but only if the return was big enough to change the direction of the franchise.
That’s the league now: stars, rumors, and possibilities flying everywhere. And for the moment, the biggest question still hanging out there is where LeBron James lands next.

Kevin Durant Just Added More Intrigue To LeBron's Looming Decision
Kevin Durant didnt offer any hints about LeBron James next stop, but he did add to the buzz surrounding a decision that appears to be coming soon. The Rockets forward said he does not know where James will sign in free agency, while also making clear he expects James to keep producing at a high level no matter where he lands. For Houston, its another reminder that one of the leagues biggest names is still looming over the offseason conversation.
James is set to be around Fanatics Fest in New York, where he is expected to take part in a podcast recording on Thursday and shoot a show on Friday, only adding to the speculation around an announcement. Durants view was simple enough: wherever James ends up, he will still be a force, and the team that gets him will be better for it. The only real question left is where that will be. [Read more 🡒]
Kevin Durant Just Went After Two Major NBA Voices
Kevin Durant has never been shy about pushing back at the media, and his latest round of criticism landed on two of the NBAs most recognizable voices. The exchange fits a familiar pattern for Durant, who has repeatedly shown he is willing to answer back when he thinks the conversation around him or the league goes too far.
The backdrop matters because this is not an isolated flare-up. Durant has sparred with Stephen A. Smith before, and Smith even responded with a warning on his show after one of those clashes. With Durant now taking aim at more analysts, the tension between superstar players and the people paid to dissect them is once again front and center. [Read more 🡒]
