Ime Udoka Blasts Refs After Rockets' Tough Loss to Bulls

Rockets head coach Ime Udoka fires back at officials after a tough loss to the Bulls, stirring up a conversation on the state of officiating this NBA season.

In a game that left Rockets fans with more questions than answers, Ime Udoka didn't mince words about the officiating during Houston's 132-124 loss to the Chicago Bulls. Now in his fourth season as an NBA head coach, Udoka is navigating his third year with the Rockets, aiming to steer the team deep into the playoffs with the dynamic duo of Kevin Durant and Alperen Sengun at the helm.

Despite their strong season, the Rockets have been susceptible to surprising defeats, like the one they experienced against the Bulls. The free throw disparity-23 attempts for Chicago to Houston's 15-was a sticking point for Udoka.

Post-game, he was candid about his frustrations with how flagrant and technical fouls were handled, saying, “Flagrants soft a** hell was nothing, and then the techs were soft too. I am not about to complain about a soft crew,” as reported by Lachard Binkley.

Reflecting on the game, the Rockets have some introspection ahead. Four Houston players hit double figures, showcasing their offensive depth.

Kevin Durant was at the forefront with an impressive 40 points, seven rebounds, and five assists, shooting efficiently at 15-of-23 from the field and 5-of-10 from three-point range. Alperen Sengun wasn't far behind, recording a triple-double with 33 points, 13 rebounds, and 10 assists.

Amen Thompson added 23 points and three rebounds, while Reed Sheppard contributed 13 points and six assists.

This loss drops Houston to a 43-28 record, placing them sixth in the Western Conference. They sit above the Phoenix Suns and Los Angeles Clippers but are chasing the Minnesota Timberwolves and Denver Nuggets.

The Rockets will aim to rebound as they continue their road trip, facing the Timberwolves next. Tip-off is set for March 25 at 9:30 p.m. ET, where they'll look to regain momentum and solidify their playoff positioning.
