Houston Walks Into A Utah Spotlight That Just Got Even Bigger

Join College GameDay as former Utah star and current Buffalo Bills standout Dalton Kincaid lends his insider perspective ahead of a crucial Utah vs. Houston showdown.

Dalton Kincaid is headed back to Salt Lake City in a different role this weekend.

The former Utah standout and current Buffalo Bills tight end has been named the guest picker for College GameDay on Saturday, with the show in town for a top-25 Big 12 matchup between No. 10 Utah and No.

14 Houston. It’s one of the biggest games of the weekend and another major test for Morgan Scalley’s team at Rice-Eccles Stadium.

Kincaid’s return brings him back to the program where he made his name from 2020 to 2022. Scalley, who was Utah’s defensive coordinator under former coach Kyle Whittingham during Kincaid’s three seasons in the program, now leads the Utes as they try to handle Houston in a late-night 8:15 p.m. kickoff.

Kincaid leaves behind plenty of memories from Utah’s final stretch in the old Pac-12. In 2022, he was an All-Pac-12 First Team selection and finished as the team’s leader in catches with 70, going for 890 yards and eight touchdowns.

He has carried that production into the NFL, too. The Bills took him with the 25th overall pick in the first round of the 2023 NFL Draft, making him the only tight end selected in that class. Four years into his Buffalo career, he has 1,969 receiving yards and 10 touchdowns.

Kincaid was on the field last weekend in Buffalo’s game at his hometown of Las Vegas against the Raiders, though he exited the second half with a rib injury. The Bills are on a bye this week and are scheduled to return next Sunday, Nov. 1, at home against the Baltimore Ravens.

For now, though, Kincaid’s spotlight belongs to College GameDay - and to a Utah team that enters Saturday as a 6.5-point favorite to defend its home field.
