Romeo Doubs Hopes to Stay in Green Bay, But Future Remains Uncertain
As the Green Bay Packers head into a pivotal offseason, wide receiver Romeo Doubs finds himself at a career crossroads. The 26-year-old wideout, who just wrapped up his fourth season with the team, is set to hit free agency-and whether he stays in Green Bay or moves on remains up in the air.
Doubs made it clear in a recent interview with Kay Adams that his heart is still in Green Bay. “I would love to re-sign with the Packers,” he said, a sentiment that echoes the kind of loyalty fans love to hear. But in the NFL, goodwill doesn’t always translate to new contracts.
The numbers back up Doubs’ value. He finished the 2025 regular season with 55 catches for 724 yards and six touchdowns-solid production in a young, evolving Packers offense.
And when the lights were brightest, Doubs showed up. In the Wild Card loss to the Bears, he posted a career-playoff-best 124 yards on eight catches and found the end zone.
That kind of postseason performance doesn’t go unnoticed.
Drafted in the fourth round back in 2022, Doubs has carved out a strong role in Green Bay’s offense over the past four seasons. He’s totaled 202 receptions for 2,424 yards and 21 touchdowns in that span, becoming a reliable target regardless of who’s under center.
But despite his production and desire to stay, the signs point toward a possible split. According to reports, contract talks between Doubs and the Packers never really gained traction-not before the season, not during it. Negotiations stalled early and haven’t picked up since, suggesting the team might be ready to move in a different direction.
That leaves Doubs heading into free agency with experience, production, and playoff credentials on his side. He’s played in four postseason games, racking up 20 catches for 371 yards and two touchdowns. He’s shown he can deliver when it matters, and at 26, he’s still in the prime of his career.
If Green Bay opts not to bring him back, Doubs will likely draw interest around the league. He’s a versatile receiver with a knack for making plays in big moments-a valuable commodity for teams looking to bolster their receiving corps.
For now, Doubs waits. The ball is in the Packers’ court. But whether he’s catching passes in Lambeau or elsewhere next fall, he’s proven he can be a difference-maker.
