As the NFL world gears up for Super Bowl LX between the Seahawks and Patriots, the other 30 teams are already deep into offseason mode - scouting, strategizing, and eyeing potential roster moves. One name that’s quietly starting to generate buzz: Packers wide receiver Romeo Doubs.
At just 25 years old, Doubs has emerged as a reliable target in Green Bay’s young receiver corps. He’s coming off a career-best season, hauling in 55 catches for 724 yards and six touchdowns - solid numbers, especially considering the Packers have spread the ball around in a wide-open passing attack. Doubs may not have been the flashiest name on the roster, but he’s been consistent, productive, and, perhaps most importantly, dependable in high-leverage moments.
Now, with free agency looming, two teams are reportedly keeping close tabs on his situation: the Las Vegas Raiders and Tennessee Titans. Both squads are in desperate need of a go-to option on the outside, and Doubs could fit that bill. The key, of course, is whether Green Bay lets him hit the open market.
According to reports, the Packers are expected to at least engage in contract talks with Doubs. But there’s a wrinkle - Green Bay may prioritize extending tight end Tucker Kraft, who’s under contract through 2027. That could complicate things for Doubs, especially if the team is looking to allocate resources toward locking up their emerging tight end long-term.
Still, the door isn’t closed on a return to Lambeau. There’s an expectation that Doubs and the Packers will have some dialogue, and there’s certainly mutual value in keeping a proven playmaker in-house. But if those talks stall or if Green Bay decides to go in a different direction, both the Raiders and Titans are expected to be in the mix.
For Vegas, Doubs would instantly become a top target in an offense that’s lacked consistent production at the wideout position beyond Davante Adams. In Tennessee, he’d be a welcome addition to a receiving corps that’s still trying to find its identity post-A.J.
Brown. In either spot, Doubs wouldn’t just be a complementary piece - he’d likely be asked to carry a much bigger load as a true WR1.
The free agency window doesn’t officially open until March 11, but teams are already positioning themselves for what could be a sneaky-important signing. Doubs isn’t a household name - not yet, anyway - but with the right fit and opportunity, he has the tools to take that next step.
