Packers Stun Fans by Hiring New Special Teams Coordinator

Packers bolster their coaching staff with Cam Achord, a seasoned special teams expert, to ignite new strategies on the field.

The Packers are shaking things up on their coaching staff with some key new hires. Cam Achord is set to take on the role of special teams coordinator under head coach Matt LaFleur. Achord steps in following Rich Bisaccia's departure after four seasons in Green Bay.

Achord brings a wealth of experience, having served as the assistant special teams coach for the Giants over the past two seasons. Before that, he had a significant stint with the Patriots, working as their special teams coordinator for four years and spending additional time as an assistant coach.

In addition to the changes on special teams, the Packers are introducing a new defensive coordinator for the 2026 season. Jonathan Gannon has been brought on board to lead the defense after Jeff Hafley left to take the head coaching position with the Dolphins.

These strategic moves highlight the Packers' commitment to strengthening their coaching staff as they aim for success in the upcoming season.
