Rumblings around the league suggest the Packers might not be done yet. They're reportedly eyeing another of Gannon’s former Eagles protégés, Josh Sweat. Sweat, who has been with the Arizona Cardinals since 2025, is rumored to be seeking a new home following Gannon’s departure from the Cardinals' head coaching role.
At 29, Sweat remains a force on the field. He inked a hefty 4-year, $76.4 million deal with Arizona last offseason after a successful stint with the Eagles.
Under Gannon's guidance in Philadelphia, Sweat consistently matched Hargrave's sack totals, delivering 7.5 and 11 sacks in consecutive seasons. His tenure in Arizona only bolstered his reputation, as he notched career-highs with 12 sacks and four forced fumbles last year.
The Packers have had their eye on Sweat for some time, and acquiring him could be strategic. His addition would provide depth and allow Micah Parsons to gradually return from his ACL injury. Sweat’s prowess as a run defender and his familiarity with Gannon’s system make him an attractive prospect.
