Packers Eye Cleveland as Browns Face Historic O-Line Shakeup

Can the Browns rebuild their offensive line and fend off free agency woes? Here's Bill Barnwell's game plan featuring strategic trades and key acquisitions.

The Cleveland Browns are facing an unprecedented challenge this offseason. For the first time since the AFL-NFL merger in 1970, a team could lose all five starting offensive linemen to free agency in a single winter.

With Wyatt Teller's emotional farewell still fresh and Joel Bitonio's retirement status up in the air, GM Andrew Berry has a monumental task ahead. He needs to navigate trades, the draft, and perhaps even a strategic "Packers invasion" to keep the offense from unraveling.

To weather this storm, the Browns might want to look toward a Green Bay duo that offers stability and potential. On The Bill Barnwell Show, ESPN analyst Bill Barnwell highlighted a versatile and cost-effective player who could help solidify the offensive line.

Barnwell mentioned Sean Rhyan from the Packers, describing him as a flexible option. "He's not a superstar, but he can fill multiple roles-center, guard.

At 25, he's still young. Is he elite?

Maybe not, but he's affordable and could be a valuable asset."

Rhyan fits the bill as a swing player who can patch up gaps at guard and center. His estimated price tag is a reasonable $6.5 million annually. However, if the Browns are looking for a cornerstone, they should consider pairing him with his Green Bay teammate Rasheed Walker.

Standing at 6’6" and 324 pounds, the 26-year-old tackle is set to be one of the top options on the market. In 2025, Walker's impressive 93.8% pass block win rate ranked 11th among all qualifying offensive tackles. For new coach Todd Monken, Walker could be the ideal anchor on the left side to kickstart the rebuild.

Securing Walker would require a projected $20.28 million annual salary, likely the Browns' biggest move this offseason. With Deshaun Watson's dead cap money still a factor, Berry needs to be prudent, but Walker seems worth the investment.

The strategy? Lock down Walker to secure the edge, bring in Rhyan to bolster the interior, and use the draft to fill any remaining gaps.
