Packers Eye 2026 International Return With Two Cities

Packers fans brace for a potential return to the international stage in 2026, with games possibly in Munich or Paris raising both excitement and concerns.

The Green Bay Packers are no strangers to international play, having ventured abroad in 2022 and 2024. Their last international outing saw them clash with the Philadelphia Eagles in Sao Paulo, Brazil, during Week One of the 2024 season.

Prior to that, they faced off against the New York Giants in London in 2022. Unfortunately for Packers fans, both games ended in losses.

After a break from international play in 2025, the Packers might find themselves on the global stage again in 2026. Ed Policy, the team's CEO and President, recently hinted at the possibility of the Packers participating in one of two international matchups next season.

According to Policy, the Packers could be set to face the Detroit Lions in Munich, Germany, or the New Orleans Saints in Paris, France. These potential games would be considered "away" fixtures for Green Bay, as both the Lions and Saints are scheduled to host games in these European cities during the 2026 season.

The trend of international games is becoming a staple in the NFL, with the league pushing towards each team playing overseas regularly. While this expansion excites many, Packers fans have their reservations. The memories of Aaron Rodgers' hand injury in London and Jordan Love's sprained MCL in Brazil are still fresh, not to mention Kenny Clark's toe injury against the Eagles, which led to a challenging season for the defensive tackle.

As the Packers potentially prepare for another European adventure, the hope is that they can navigate these international waters without the waves of injury that have plagued past trips.
