Bijan Robinson gave the Atlanta Falcons exactly the kind of jolt they needed Thursday night, and then some.
Atlanta came into Lambeau Field still chasing its first win of the season. Robinson made sure that wait ended quickly, powering the Falcons to a 35-14 rout of the Green Bay Packers with a monster night that featured 194 rushing yards and two touchdowns on 29 carries.
The result pushed Atlanta to 1-2, with Green Bay dropping to the same mark. But this wasn’t just a win.
It was a physical takeover. Atlanta piled up 242 rushing yards while the Packers managed only 17.
Robinson did most of the heavy lifting himself, finishing 177 rushing yards ahead of Green Bay by the time the night was over. He ripped off a long run of 55 yards and averaged 6.7 yards per carry while helping Atlanta dictate the pace. It was a stunning turnaround from his first two games, when he had totaled just 80 rushing yards on 37 carries.
He wasn’t done there. Robinson added two catches for 19 yards, giving him 213 yards from scrimmage on the night.
Michael Penix Jr. was back in the starting lineup for Atlanta, and the offense looked far more dangerous with him in place. Penix went 18 of 25 for 256 yards, throwing one touchdown and one interception.
Drake London took full advantage, hauling in nine passes for a career-high 194 yards. Robinson and London became the first teammates to each post at least 190 yards from scrimmage in a road game since Los Angeles Rams teammates Lawrence McCutcheon and Ron Jessie did it against Miami in 1976.
"Me and Drake, that's my real-life brother," Robinson said after the game. "I call him my blood brother. We do everything together."
Atlanta had scored only 16 points over its first two games. Against Green Bay, it put up 35.
That's quite a way to get the first win.
