But Green Bay keeps making it clear it sees more growth ahead, and that the consistency Love has shown over the last two seasons has earned that belief.
The upside, at least as the Packers see it, is obvious. Love has the talent to be a top-five quarterback in the league and to drive this roster toward a deep January run.
He can make every NFL throw that matters, and when he’s working from a clean pocket, he’s among the best in football. The next step is obvious too: if he becomes more consistent when pressure gets to him, the top-five conversation gets a lot harder to ignore.
That’s why the confidence around Love matters. Green Bay isn’t treating his development like a finished product.
It’s treating it like something still climbing. And even after the frustration of the playoff loss, Love’s level of play was strong enough that the Packers should have won and advanced to the second round.
