Packers Alum Taylor Elgersma Stuns with Combine Invitation

Taylor Elgersma seizes a pivotal opportunity at the NFL Scouting Combine to reignite his NFL ambitions.

The NFL Scouting Combine is typically the stage for draft-eligible prospects to showcase their talents, but this year, a familiar face is stepping into the spotlight. Free agent quarterback Taylor Elgersma, who had a stint with the Packers last summer, is set to throw in Indianapolis, offering scouts a fresh look at his skills.

Elgersma, who was on the Packers’ 90-player roster for three months, will be lending his arm to the Combine drills, primarily helping scouts evaluate wide receivers, tight ends, running backs, and defensive backs for the 2026 NFL draft. However, he’s not just there to assist; he’s hoping to impress. A standout performance could be his ticket back into an NFL training camp.

Despite going undrafted in the NFL, Elgersma has a solid football résumé. After a stellar final season at Laurier University in Ontario, where he earned first-team All-Canadian honors, he was drafted by both the Canadian Football League and the United Football League. Yet, his sights remain set on the NFL.

Standing at 6-foot-5 and weighing 227 pounds, Elgersma has the physical attributes that teams covet. During his preseason run with the Packers, he completed 16 of 23 passes for 166 yards, with a touchdown and no interceptions-a glimpse of his potential under center.

As Elgersma prepares to take the field at the Combine, he’s not just throwing passes; he’s throwing his hat back into the NFL ring, eager to seize any opportunity that comes his way.
