The Green Bay Packers locked in their initial 53-man roster for the 2026 season on Aug. 30, and the first thing that jumps out is how many rookies made the cut. Six first-year players survived the first round of roster trimming, including five of the team’s six 2026 draft picks, plus undrafted free agent receiver J.
Michael Sturdivant. Sixth-round cornerback Domani Jackson did not make the roster.
On offense, the Packers kept 25 players, starting with two quarterbacks: Jordan Love and Tyrod Taylor. The backfield includes three running backs in MarShawn Lloyd, Kaleb Johnson and Chris Brooks.
At receiver, Green Bay carried six players: Christian Watson, Matthew Golden, Jayden Reed, Skyy Moore, Bo Melton and rookie J. Michael Sturdivant.
The offensive line group is the biggest unit on that side of the ball, with 10 players making the roster: Jordan Morgan, Aaron Banks, Sean Rhyan, Jacob Monk, Zach Bako-Bewele, Anthony Belton, rookie Jager Burton, Donovan Jennings, Travis Glover and John Williams.
The defense also comes in at 25 players. Outside linebacker features Lukas Van Ness, Barryn Sorrell, Brenton Cox Jr. and rookie Dani Dennis-Sutton.
Inside, the defensive tackle room includes Devonte Wyatt, Javon Hargrave, Karl Brooks, Warren Brinson, rookie Chris McClellan, Jonathan Ford and Anthony Campbell.
The cornerback group has five players: Keisean Nixon, rookie Brandon Cisse, Benjamin St-Juste, Carrington Valentine and Kamal Hadden.
Special teams is set with three players. Rookie Trey Smack is the kicker, Daniel Whelan is the punter and Matt Orzech is the long snapper.
The Packers also listed several players in other roster designations. Wide receiver Savion Williams and edge Collin Oliver were placed on injured reserve/designated to return.
Tight end Luke Musgrave, outside linebacker Micah Parsons and defensive tackle Jordon Riley landed on the physically unable to perform list. Running back Josh Jacobs is on the commissioner’s exempt list.
