Could George Pickens Be Green Bay Bound? Jordan Love Isn’t Shy About the Possibility
Super Bowl week isn’t just about game plans and confetti - it’s also become prime time for offseason buzz. And this year, the Green Bay Packers are right in the thick of it.
With a handful of notable names swirling around the rumor mill - including Romeo Doubs, Micah Parsons, and Jordan Love - the Packers are clearly a team to watch as the offseason unfolds. One of the biggest questions facing Green Bay right now? What’s next for their wide receiver room.
Romeo Doubs is headed into free agency, which already puts the spotlight on the position. But there's another name heating up the conversation - and he’s not even on the roster (yet): George Pickens.
Jordan Love on George Pickens: “I’d love to have him”
Appearing on Up & Adams this week, Packers quarterback Jordan Love didn’t dodge the topic when asked about the idea of bringing Pickens to Green Bay. In fact, he leaned right into it.
“If you can bring in another player, George Pickens. He had a phenomenal year, he's a great player,” Love said.
“I would love to have the most talented players on our team at all times… I played basketball with him. I know what type of bounce he's got.”
It’s not every day you hear a starting QB publicly campaign for a potential free agent. But Love’s comments weren’t just a casual shoutout - they were a clear endorsement. And when you consider the season Pickens just had, it’s easy to see why.
The Agent Connection: A Familiar Pipeline?
Here’s where things get interesting.
Love, Pickens, and Parsons all share the same agent - David Mulugheta - and that connection might carry more weight than it seems on the surface. Love even referenced their shared offseason events:
“George has got the same agent as well… We all get together for Elite Week. David Mulugheta brings us all out, we get together and do some cool things,” Love said.
Now, let’s rewind a bit. Last year, Love appeared on the same show and floated the idea of Micah Parsons joining the Packers.
At the time, it sounded like a long shot. But not long after?
Parsons was wearing green and gold.
Coincidence? Maybe. But it’s hard not to raise an eyebrow when you see the pattern.
Could the Packers Actually Land Pickens?
Let’s be clear - prying George Pickens away from the Dallas Cowboys would be a stunner. Dallas has made it known they want to keep him paired with CeeDee Lamb, and for good reason.
That duo was electric last season. When both were on the field, the Cowboys’ offense looked borderline unstoppable.
Dak Prescott was dealing, and their issues weren’t on the offensive side of the ball.
Pickens, in particular, turned in a monster campaign: 93 catches, 1,429 yards, and nine touchdowns. That’s WR1 production by any standard, even if he was technically the No. 2 behind Lamb. With that kind of output, he’s not just in line for a new deal - he’s in line for a massive one.
And here’s where the Packers might hit a wall. That kind of contract? It’s tough to imagine Green Bay, a team that’s historically careful with its cap space, shelling out top-tier money for a wide receiver - especially with young talent like Jayden Reed and Christian Watson already in the fold.
Still, the idea of adding a weapon like Pickens to Love’s arsenal is tantalizing. He’s a physical, explosive playmaker with a knack for high-point catches and yards after the catch. Pairing him with Love could elevate this Packers offense into something special.
What’s Next?
Whether this is just Super Bowl week chatter or something more, it’s clear that George Pickens is going to be one of the most talked-about names this offseason. And with Jordan Love openly voicing his interest, the Packers have at least thrown their hat into the ring - even if only in theory for now.
The Cowboys still hold the cards, and the expectation is that they’ll do everything they can to keep Pickens in Dallas. But if Green Bay somehow finds a way to make it happen? That would be one of the boldest moves of the offseason.
For now, it's just speculation. But in the NFL, where connections matter and off-field relationships often pave the way for on-field surprises, it’s worth keeping an eye on.
