Jordan Love isn’t hiding how he feels about the Packers heading into training camp: he likes what he sees.
With the 2026 NFL season approaching, Green Bay is carrying real expectations. The Packers are being viewed as a legitimate Super Bowl contender in the NFC, and that kind of spotlight comes with pressure. After last season started with the team looking like a favorite and ended with injuries wrecking the year, plus a painful Wild Card collapse against the Chicago Bears after a 21-3 halftime lead disappeared, the margin for error is thin.
That pressure lands squarely on head coach Matt LaFleur and Love. There’s no question about Love’s place as the long-term answer in Green Bay, but the next step is the one everyone is watching. The 27-year-old is being asked to move from good to great, from star to superstar.
His 2025 season was solid, but not quite the leap the Packers need. In 15 games, Love completed 66.3 percent of his passes for 3,381 yards, 23 touchdowns, and six interceptions. For Green Bay to truly play like a championship team, those numbers have to climb.
Love sounds ready for the challenge.
"Man, I'm excited. I love the guys we got," Love said.
"I love the team we got. I think everybody's in a good place."
That confidence isn’t hard to understand. The Packers have talent on both sides of the ball, with a strong group around Love offensively and a defense that has elite upside. General manager Brian Gutekunst has put together a roster that gives Green Bay a real chance to contend.
One of the biggest defensive storylines is the return of Micah Parsons. The superstar pass rusher is still working back from the torn ACL he suffered last season and is expected to miss the first half of the year. If the Packers can hold things together until he returns, Parsons could give them a major lift for the stretch run.
For now, though, so much of Green Bay’s season comes back to Love. If he makes the jump the Packers are counting on, this team will be tough to handle. And based on his comments, he believes the pieces are there for that kind of season to happen.

This Season Could Change How Packers Fans See Matt LaFleur
The Packers head into the season with a roster that does not offer many easy answers. Outside of a few obvious pillars, there is not a long list of clear top-five players at most positions, which puts even more weight on the way Matt LaFleur has built and guided the offense since arriving in Green Bay.
LaFleur has earned plenty of credit for his creativity and for finding ways to scheme players open, but this year feels different because the margin for error is thinner. With the offense lacking the kind of star power that can carry a coach on its own, the season becomes a real test of whether LaFleur can keep proving he is more than a good play designer and game manager, and whether this version of the Packers can still look like one of the leagues sharper units. Packers Receiver Battle Suddenly Has One Undrafted Name To Watch
The Packers receiver room has already been reshaped by the departures of Romeo Doubs and Dontayvion Wicks, leaving Green Bay with more questions than answers as camp approaches. That uncertainty has opened the door for an undrafted name to get real attention, and J. Michael Sturdivant has emerged as one of the more intriguing possibilities because he brings a blend of size, speed and the kind of versatility teams look for when roster spots are tight.
Sturdivants case is not just about trying to survive in a crowded competition at wideout. His ability to help on special teams gives him another path onto the roster, which matters for a team trying to sort out the bottom of the depth chart while keeping an eye on the bigger picture at receiver. With so much unsettled around him, his opportunity may come down to whether he can keep standing out once the pads come on. [Read more 🡒]
Tucker Kraft Update Could Change Everything For Jordan Love's Offense
Tucker Krafts recovery has become one of the more important storylines around Green Bays offense as the Packers look ahead to 2026. The tight end is working back from the ACL injury he suffered in Week 9 of the 2025 season, and the early signs have been encouraging enough that the team can at least begin planning with him in mind again.
Kraft opened training camp on the PUP list, but the expectation is still that he can be part of the offense when the season gets going. For Jordan Love, that matters because Kraft had grown into a central piece of the passing game before the injury, and the next phase of his return could have as much to do with roster planning as it does with rehab.
