Jordan Love Lands On Packers Report At The Worst Time

As the Green Bay Packers navigate through injury concerns with key players like Jordan Love, Christian Watson, and Matthew Golden, the team scrambles to maintain its strength ahead of the crucial clash with the Detroit Lions.

Jordan Love is on Green Bay’s injury report for the first time this season, and he’s joined by a crowded group of Packers who showed up Wednesday as limited participants.

The Packers’ initial report ahead of Week 7 against the Detroit Lions came with a major caveat: the team didn’t officially practice, so every designation is being listed as an estimation. Even so, it offered a clear snapshot of who is dealing with what as Green Bay tries to manage health with Thursday Night Football against the Pittsburgh Steelers looming on Oct. 29.

The most encouraging development for the Packers is that Josh Jacobs does not appear on the report at all, which points to him being ready to go against Detroit. But the concern shifts quickly to the passing game, where both Christian Watson and Matthew Golden were listed as limited. Watson is dealing with an ankle injury, while Golden is listed with a shoulder issue.

Love’s appearance is tied to a back injury. He was sacked three times in Sunday Night Football against the Dallas Cowboys, including once by former Packers teammate Kenny Clark, and he’s taken 13 sacks through six games.

He also matched his season high with four carries in that game. Green Bay has been cautious about using him as a runner, but the team did call a zone read against former Packers defender Rashan Gary.

For a Packers offense that has leaned on Watson and Golden as a dangerous duo, both names on the report stands out. Each had a drop or two against Dallas, but the team’s trust in them, especially Golden, remains high.

Elsewhere on the report, offensive guard Aaron Banks was limited with knee and toe injuries, and he was the only offensive lineman listed. Cornerbacks Brandon Cisse and Benjamin St-Juste were both limited, with Cisse dealing with a shoulder and neck issue and St-Juste listed with a hamstring injury.

Defensive tackles Anthony Campbell and Jordon Riley also showed up as limited, with Campbell on the report because of an ankle injury and Riley dealing with an Achilles issue. Riley is in his 21-day practice window after being activated from injured reserve.

Bo Melton was the only player listed as did not participate, and his designation was due to a back injury. Savion Williams was also on the report as limited with an ankle injury.

Packers Have A Bigger Matthew Golden Question After Those Costly Drops

Matthew Golden has become one of the brighter developments in the Packers offense in his second NFL season, turning a promising rookie profile into real production for Jordan Love. The 23rd overall pick in 2025 has cleared 500 receiving yards, found the end zone three times and climbed to sixth in the league in receiving yards, a sign that his role has grown into something much more central than simple depth-chart momentum.

So the drops against the Cowboys matter less as a referendum on Golden than as the latest test of how Green Bay handles a young receiver with expanding responsibilities. The Packers and offensive coordinator Adam Stenavich have been steady in their belief in him, and the bigger question now is how quickly Golden can turn a few costly mistakes into another step forward without losing the trust he has already earned. Packers Receiver Situation Just Got More Interesting After Savion Williams Debut

Savion Williams finally got his first game action of the season after the Packers activated the rookie receiver from injured reserve, and it came at a time when Green Bays wideout room already had a lot going on. Offensive coordinator Adam Stenavich made it clear the team likes the talent Williams brings, especially as he continues working on the finer points of his game, with route running a key part of that development.

The timing matters for the Packers because the receiver depth chart has been shifting, with Skyy Moore now on injured reserve and Jayden Reed still there as well. Williams debut against the Cowboys gave Green Bay another look at what he can add, and it also raised the natural next question for a team trying to sort out how its passing game will hold together from here. Brewers World Series Run Is Turning Wisconsin Into Baseball Country

The Milwaukee Brewers march to the 2026 World Series has done more than fill the summer with baseball buzz. After sweeping the Los Angeles Dodgers in the National League Championship Series, the Brewers have turned the states attention in a way few clubs can, with broadcaster Jeff Levering noting how much the conversation around Wisconsin has shifted during this postseason run.

Now the Brewers are set to face the Tampa Bay Rays, with Game 1 scheduled at American Family Field in Milwaukee. For a state that usually lives and breathes football this time of year, the timing and the stage have made this a rare stretch when baseball has taken center stage, and the full extent of that crossover is showing up in places Packers fans are not used to hearing it.
