It’s only Week 3, but the NFC North quarterback picture is already shifting in a hurry. Injuries, ugly weather, shaky protection and a couple of fast starts have changed the conversation, and for now Jordan Love has moved to the top of the stack.
That doesn’t mean everything around him is clean. Far from it. But in a division where every starter is carrying some kind of baggage right now, Love has done enough to separate himself after two weeks.
Carson Wentz, for all the good vibes around Minnesota’s 2-0 start, settles in behind him. The Vikings have won, and Wentz has helped keep things steady while Kyler Murray works his way back toward a return.
Still, this is about impact at quarterback, not just the scoreboard around him. Against the Bears, Wentz completed 11 of 20 passes for 143 yards with no touchdowns and a fumble.
The weather mattered, sure, but the heavy lifting came from the defense and the run game. Wentz mostly had to keep the machine from wobbling.
Jared Goff stays right where he was after Week 1, and the numbers say why. He lit up the Bills for 327 passing yards, four touchdowns and no interceptions, and he’s tied for the league lead with six touchdown passes entering Week 3.
Detroit is averaging 31 points per game. But the offense still feels a little out of sync, especially when it comes to the connection between Goff and Jameson Williams.
Amon-Ra St. Brown can only carry so much of the load, and Goff took four sacks against Buffalo as the line around him struggled to hold up.
He’s producing at a high level, but he’s not single-handedly dragging the Lions to wins.
Caleb Williams drops a spot because he won’t be available for the Bears for the time being. Chicago is even facing the possibility of starting Case Keenum in Monday night’s Week 3 game against the Eagles, with Tyson Bagent also in concussion protocol.
Williams did have some solid moments against Minnesota despite the Bears managing only three points in the rain and elements. He made plays outside the pocket and threw downfield with confidence before the hamstring injury changed everything.
He had already shown how dangerous he can be against Carolina, and the Bears need that version of him back as soon as possible.
Love, meanwhile, earned the top spot by surviving the chaos around him and still finding ways to win. The Packers came back to beat the Jets, and that mattered because the circumstances around their offense are rough right now.
Josh Jacobs is out, which has left Green Bay 32nd in the NFL in rushing yards through two weeks. The offensive line has also made life harder than it should be, and Love has taken the punishment.
He’s been sacked on 8.97 percent of his dropbacks this season, nearly double his 2025 rate of 4.57 percent, and that pressure has shown up in his accuracy, with Love completing just 52.1 percent of his passes.
Even so, he’s still landing punches. He threw two touchdown passes against the Jets and helped set up both the game-tying and game-winning drives. In a division full of questions, that was enough to put him on top.
