Jordan Love keeps stacking up the kind of numbers that make it hard to dismiss the Green Bay Packers.
That was the thrust of NFL analyst Alex Kay’s take in Bleacher Report’s “1 Reason Every NFL Team Shouldn't Be Overlooked in 2026,” where he pointed to Love’s continued growth as the key reason Green Bay belongs in the conversation.
The production backs it up. According to Packers.com, Love is one of only three quarterbacks to throw 80-plus touchdown passes with fewer than 30 interceptions since 2023. The other two are reigning MVP Matthew Stafford of the Los Angeles Rams and two-time MVP Lamar Jackson of the Baltimore Ravens.
Love has settled in as a strong quarterback under Matt LaFleur, but that’s not the level Green Bay is paying for. In 2024, Love signed a four-year, $220 million contract, a deal that makes the expectation clear: the Packers want superstar play.
Last season, the 27-year-old finished with 3,381 passing yards, 23 passing touchdowns and a 66.3% completion rate. Green Bay went 9-7-1 and then lost to the Chicago Bears in the wild-card round of the 2026 NFL playoffs.
For his career, Love now has 11,535 passing yards and 83 passing touchdowns. He’s 27-20-1 as a starter.
And Love knows exactly where he wants to sharpen things next. He said the biggest area he’s working on is his footwork.
"My biggest thing that I've noticed since I got back is just my feet in the pocket, trying to be as smooth and consistent as possible," Love said. "When I go through my reads, get into my hitches and not getting antsy, not getting to that point where you're trying to move through the pocket too fast.
Just staying calm, staying relaxed, move through my reads. If I've gotta move around in the pocket, keeping those movements pretty tight and not kind of running into where guys might be peeling off and able to hit you.
"So just really trying to focus on my feet, my pocket movements. Obviously I think all those things are tied to accuracy and just the timing of routes and things like that, so just trying to be as dialed in as possible. That's the biggest thing I've been trying to work on so far."
Green Bay opens the 2026 season against the Minnesota Vikings, and Love will be asked to take another step forward right away. That challenge gets even bigger with Micah Parsons set to miss the start of the campaign while recovering from his ACL tear.
