Jordan Love keeps stacking wins, and now the MVP buzz is starting to feel a lot more real.
After six weeks, Love has established himself as the top quarterback in the NFC North, and his performance in the Green Bay Packers’ 23-13 victory over the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday Night Football gave his case another serious push. He finished 66.7 percent of his passes for 276 yards, one touchdown and one interception, and he also added a one-yard rushing score. The line looks solid enough at first glance, but it barely captures how much he had to carry on a night when Green Bay got almost nothing going on the ground.
The Packers didn’t exactly help him out, either. Their skill players were responsible for five drops, including three plays that should have gone for touchdowns in Week 6.
None of it rattled Love. He kept attacking Dallas anyway, and that has become a familiar theme for Green Bay over the last few weeks.
Love’s recent stretch is the bigger story here. He opened the season a little sluggishly, in part because the Packers were not giving him the protection he needed.
Brian Gutekunst has since upgraded the offensive line, and the sixth-year quarterback has responded with a surge. During Green Bay’s three-game winning streak, Love has completed 68.6 percent of his passes for 840 yards, five touchdowns and two interceptions.
The production gets even more impressive when you zoom out. Green Bay’s running game is dead last in the league, and the team’s 18 drops lead the NFL.
Even so, Love’s 1,684 passing yards are third-most in the league through Week 6. He is also throwing it more than he did a year ago.
His 439 attempts last season ranked 19th in 2025; after the win over Dallas, he has climbed to sixth with 226 attempts.
That combination of volume, efficiency and wins is why he’s suddenly right in the MVP discussion.
Of course, the road to the award is still crowded. Josh Allen, Brock Purdy and Patrick Mahomes are among the top names in the race, and their teams will matter just as much as their individual numbers. Allen is the current betting favorite, Purdy is second at and Mahomes is third at +650, per DraftKings Sportsbook.
For Love, the formula is straightforward: keep winning, keep producing and keep surviving the chaos around him. That path may get a little easier soon.
Josh Jacobs is eligible to practice and play after leaving the NFL Commissioner's Exempt List, and Micah Parsons is close to returning after tearing his ACL last year. Neither one changes Love’s stat line directly, but both would lighten the burden and give the Packers a better chance to keep stacking victories.
If Love keeps playing like this, he’s going to stay in the MVP conversation for a long time.

Packers Have A Bigger Matthew Golden Question After Those Costly Drops
Matthew Golden has become one of the brighter developments in the Packers offense in his second NFL season, turning a promising rookie profile into real production for Jordan Love. The 23rd overall pick in 2025 has cleared 500 receiving yards, found the end zone three times and climbed to sixth in the league in receiving yards, a sign that his role has grown into something much more central than simple depth-chart momentum.
So the drops against the Cowboys matter less as a referendum on Golden than as the latest test of how Green Bay handles a young receiver with expanding responsibilities. The Packers and offensive coordinator Adam Stenavich have been steady in their belief in him, and the bigger question now is how quickly Golden can turn a few costly mistakes into another step forward without losing the trust he has already earned. Packers Receiver Situation Just Got More Interesting After Savion Williams Debut
Savion Williams finally got his first game action of the season after the Packers activated the rookie receiver from injured reserve, and it came at a time when Green Bays wideout room already had a lot going on. Offensive coordinator Adam Stenavich made it clear the team likes the talent Williams brings, especially as he continues working on the finer points of his game, with route running a key part of that development.
The timing matters for the Packers because the receiver depth chart has been shifting, with Skyy Moore now on injured reserve and Jayden Reed still there as well. Williams debut against the Cowboys gave Green Bay another look at what he can add, and it also raised the natural next question for a team trying to sort out how its passing game will hold together from here. Brewers World Series Run Is Turning Wisconsin Into Baseball Country
The Milwaukee Brewers march to the 2026 World Series has done more than fill the summer with baseball buzz. After sweeping the Los Angeles Dodgers in the National League Championship Series, the Brewers have turned the states attention in a way few clubs can, with broadcaster Jeff Levering noting how much the conversation around Wisconsin has shifted during this postseason run.
Now the Brewers are set to face the Tampa Bay Rays, with Game 1 scheduled at American Family Field in Milwaukee. For a state that usually lives and breathes football this time of year, the timing and the stage have made this a rare stretch when baseball has taken center stage, and the full extent of that crossover is showing up in places Packers fans are not used to hearing it.
