Christian Wilkins Sparks Interest From 26 NFL Teams Ahead Of 2026 Return

Christian Wilkins draws interest from 26 NFL teams for a 2026 return as he rehabs from a foot injury, with the Green Bay Packers positioned as a potential fit in their revamped defense.

In a development that's sure to shake up the NFL landscape, 26 teams have reportedly shown interest in former Las Vegas Raiders defensive tackle Christian Wilkins as he eyes a return to the league in 2026. According to Wilkins' agent, David Mulugheta, the talented lineman is still in the process of rehabbing a foot injury sustained in 2024.

The saga began when the Raiders voided $32.5 million in guarantees from Wilkins' contract last July. The issue stemmed from Wilkins opting against surgery for a Jones fracture, contrary to the Raiders' medical advice. This decision has left him and his team unable to recover the lost financial guarantees.

Among the teams potentially in the mix, the Green Bay Packers stand out. With ample cap space, the Packers could make a play for Wilkins without worrying about compensatory draft picks.

Wilkins, known for his prowess as a three-technique, would fit well as a 3-4 defensive end in Green Bay’s new defensive scheme. The Packers are in dire need of bolstering their defensive line, with Devonte Wyatt expected to return from an ankle injury and Javon Hargrave adjusting to a new role after playing out of position last season.

Adding an interesting twist, Mulugheta is part of Athletes First, an agency with strong ties to the Packers. This connection could play a pivotal role in negotiations. The agency represents key figures in Green Bay, including head coach Matt LaFleur and defensive coordinator Jonathan Gannon, as well as several players on the current roster.

Wilkins, originally a 13th overall pick by the Miami Dolphins in 2019, had a solid run with the team, starting 77 games. His time with the Raiders, however, was cut short after just five healthy outings. As he works towards a comeback, the interest from around the league underscores his potential impact on any defensive unit willing to take a chance on his recovery.
