Browns DT Blasts Jauan Jennings After Heated On-Field Exchange

A postgame outburst from a Browns veteran sheds new light on simmering tensions with 49ers receiver Jauan Jennings-and revives controversy from an earlier altercation.

After a tough 26-8 loss to the 49ers on Sunday, tensions boiled over in the Browns’ locker room - and defensive tackle Shelby Harris didn’t hold back when it came to 49ers wide receiver Jauan Jennings.

The flashpoint came in the third quarter, when Browns defensive lineman Maliek Collins was being carted off the field with an injury. According to Harris, Jennings had some choice words during the moment - words that didn’t sit right with Cleveland’s defensive front.

“He’s a hoe. I want that known,” Harris said postgame, clearly frustrated.

“I see why he got punched in the nuts. He said some things that you should not say to another man-ever.

I don’t respect it because you say that and then run behind your [offensive] line. That’s some real soft s---.

I want that known. I see exactly why they punched him in the nuts; I’m surprised they haven’t punched him in the jaw yet.”

That punch Harris is referring to? It happened last week in the 49ers’ Monday night win over the Panthers - a physical, chippy game that ended with Panthers safety Tre’von Moehrig taking a shot at Jennings’ groin on San Francisco’s final possession.

Jennings responded in the postgame handshake line with a punch to Moehrig’s helmet. The league came down with discipline: Moehrig was suspended one game, while Jennings was fined.

Now, it seems the Browns’ defense is siding with Moehrig - or at least expressing frustration with Jennings’ on-field behavior.

“I can’t speak for how he was raised, but if you have nothing good to say, don’t say something to somebody,” said Myles Garrett, who tried to play peacemaker during the dust-up. “He had a lot to say that was demeaning and disparaging toward some of our players and I was trying to separate everybody, and I tried to go up and ask what the problem was and he started coming at me. Some guys just roll like that.”

It’s not just about trash talk - that’s part of the game. But according to the Browns, Jennings crossed a line during an emotional moment when one of their teammates was down. That’s where the frustration stems from.

Jennings, for his part, had a productive day on the field. He hauled in four catches for 39 yards and a touchdown, helping the 49ers notch their third straight win. But it’s clear that his impact on the game extended beyond the stat sheet - and not in a way the Browns appreciated.

In a league where physicality and passion are part of the DNA, moments like these remind us that respect still matters. And when tempers flare, it’s not always just about the scoreboard - sometimes, it’s about the lines players believe shouldn’t be crossed.
