Broncos Embrace Underdog Role Despite Perfect Home Record

Despite a ten-game win streak and perfect home record, the Broncos embrace underdog status as fuel against a surging Packers squad.

The Denver Broncos are riding high on a 10-game winning streak and haven’t dropped a single contest at home all season. That kind of consistency usually earns a team the benefit of the doubt from oddsmakers-but not this time. Despite their hot streak, the Broncos are underdogs heading into Sunday’s matchup against the Green Bay Packers in Denver.

Most sportsbooks have Green Bay favored by 2.5 points, fresh off back-to-back wins over the Lions and Bears. That line might raise some eyebrows, especially considering how resilient the Broncos have been since turning their season around.

But don’t expect any complaints coming out of Denver’s locker room. In fact, players are leaning into the doubt.

“I love it. It fuels me, honestly,” said Broncos edge rusher Nik Bonitto.

“I like when people doubt us. They can stay on that side.

We’ll go out and prove what we’ve got to prove.”

That chip-on-the-shoulder mentality has defined this Broncos team during their run. Last week’s win over the Raiders may have looked closer on paper thanks to a last-second field goal that had no impact on the outcome, but the Broncos have made a habit of grinding out close games.

Seven of their 10 wins during this streak have come by just one score. That stat might make some analysts hesitant to fully buy in-but in the NFL, wins are wins, and stacking them consistently is no small feat.

This team hasn’t just been lucky. They’ve been opportunistic.

They’ve been composed. And they’ve been tough in the fourth quarter-traits that matter in December, and even more in January.

Whether it’s Bonitto making a timely play off the edge or the offense doing just enough to close out games, the Broncos have found a formula that works.

Green Bay, meanwhile, is playing some of its best football of the season, which adds another layer of intrigue to this matchup. Both teams have postseason aspirations, and both are looking to prove they’re more than just hot streaks-they’re contenders.

So while Vegas might be favoring the Packers, the Broncos aren’t sweating it. They’ve been doubted before.

They’ve heard the noise. And if recent history is any indication, they’re more than ready to respond.
