The Pac-12 is already laying out the road map for its 2027 basketball tournaments, and the destination is a familiar one: Las Vegas.
The conference announced that both its men’s and women’s tournaments will be held at MGM Grand Garden Arena in 2027 and 2028, bringing the events back to a venue with a long basketball history. The tournaments will run side by side over five days, with the women’s games scheduled earlier in the day and the men’s games following.
All nine full-time members will take part, with seeding based on regular-season results. The format starts on March 9, 2027, with play-in games for the No. 8 and No. 9 seeds.
The No. 3 and No. 4 seeds will move straight into the quarterfinals on Thursday, March 11, while the No. 1 and No. 2 seeds won’t play until the semifinals on Friday, March 12. Both championship games are set for Saturday, March 13, and the winners will earn the league’s automatic bids to the NCAA Tournament.
Broadcast plans are already in place for the men’s side. The first seven games will air on USA Network, while the championship game will be shown on CBS and Paramount+.
For the women’s tournament, The CW will carry the semifinals and final. Coverage for the earlier women’s games has not yet been announced as of summer 2026.
The announcement comes after the Pac-12 relaunched on July 1, 2026, with nine full-time members. Boise State, Colorado State, Fresno State, Gonzaga, San Diego State, Texas State and Utah State joined the league, while Oregon State and Washington State had spent two years competing in the West Coast Conference for men’s and women’s basketball during the conference’s expansion.
