UCLA and Gonzaga are headed back to the same stage, this time for a December 5 showdown at Honda Center in Anaheim.
Intersport announced the West Coast Hoops Showdown on Thursday, setting up a primetime matchup between two of the sport’s most recognizable programs. The game will air nationally on FOX, with the final tip time to be announced later.
The event comes with a full rollout for fans. Official travel packages go on sale August 18 and include game tickets, hotel accommodations and VIP Hospitality at Honda Center.
Public ticket sales begin October 8, with a one-day presale scheduled for the day before. Fans can register for that presale at WestCoastHoopsShowdown.com/tickets.
For UCLA coach Mick Cronin, the game gives his team a chance to play in front of a familiar crowd.
"We are looking forward to playing Gonzaga in front of our fans in Orange County," said UCLA head coach Mick Cronin. "This is a great opportunity for our young men to play a high-caliber opponent in an area with a ton of Bruin fans.
I know that it's been a while since our team has played games in Anaheim, and we are grateful to everyone at the Honda Center for helping make this matchup happen. It's vital for our college game to preserve some of these strong West Coast matchups, and UCLA taking on Gonzaga is a win-win for our sport.
I'm encouraging all our Bruin fans to pack the Honda Center when we take the court on Saturday, Dec. 5."
UCLA enters the 2026-27 season with a roster that looks different under Cronin. The Bruins are expected to build around returning guard Trent Perry and forward Eric Dailey Jr., both of whom are in line for bigger roles after helping UCLA reach the 2026 NCAA Tournament. Perry brings scoring and playmaking in the backcourt, while Dailey offers versatility, length and production up front.
The Bruins also added guard Jaylen Petty, forwards Filip Jovic and Sergej Macura, and guard Azavier Robinson through the transfer portal. On top of that, UCLA brought in Serbian wing Nikola Kusturica, described as one of the most highly regarded international prospects in the 2026 class.
Gonzaga, meanwhile, enters with its own experienced core under Mark Few, who was inducted into the 2026 Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame. The Bulldogs are expected to lean on returning forward Braden Huff, who gives them a proven presence inside and a key piece for the frontcourt. His return supplies size, efficiency and scoring in the paint as Gonzaga prepares for another demanding non-conference slate.
Few sounded eager for another meeting with the Bruins.
"Anytime Gonzaga and UCLA get together, it's a great opportunity for college basketball," said Gonzaga head coach Mark Few. "Mick Cronin has done an outstanding job with their program, and we have tremendous respect for the way his teams compete.
We've shared some unforgettable games over the years, and this is another exciting matchup. We're looking forward to playing in front of so many Gonzaga fans in Southern California, and we know they'll create a great atmosphere."
The matchup will be the seventh straight season the schools have played. Two of those meetings came in the NCAA Tournament, in 2021 and 2023. Gonzaga owns an 8-3 edge in the series and beat UCLA 82-72 last season in Seattle.
The West Coast Hoops Showdown adds another high-profile date to Intersport’s college basketball event lineup, which includes neutral-site showcases, multi-team events and other marquee non-conference games across the country.
