Davis Fogles Early NBA Draft Outlook Just Raised A Bigger Gonzaga Question

Rising sophomore Davis Fogle, who recently dazzled at Kraziness with a record-setting performance, emerges as a key player to watch in the latest 2027 NBA mock draft amid buzz of his potential All-American season.

NBA scouts are already trying to sort out the 2027 draft, and Gonzaga’s Davis Fogle has shown up on the board - just not nearly as high as his latest burst of hype might suggest.

In a composite 2027 NBA mock draft released Wednesday by No Ceilings, the 6-foot-7 wing landed at No. 52 overall. That put him one slot behind Kentucky senior Milan Momcilovic and one ahead of Duke sophomore Cayden Boozer. Fogle was the only Gonzaga player in the top 60, and the only Pac-12 player to make the cut.

That ranking comes after a loud reminder of what he can do. At Kraziness, even with nine new players making their Gonzaga debut, Fogle was the headliner, pouring in an event-record 30 points on 11-for-15 shooting and hitting 6 of 7 from beyond the arc in just 20 minutes.

He has been viewed for a while as a breakout candidate for his sophomore season, and the appeal is obvious: at 20 years old, he already brings size, length and a polished offensive package for a wing. His defense took a clear step forward last season, too. If the outside shot keeps falling, the ceiling gets much higher for Gonzaga, even with the offense expected to run through returning senior Braden Huff.

The No. 52 spot also feels modest for a player who just delivered that kind of performance, even with the reminder that Kraziness is still a controlled scrimmage setting.

Still, Gonzaga would likely welcome a scenario where Fogle’s draft stock sits in the mid-to-late second round next summer, because that would probably mean he’s back in Spokane for his junior year. Last season, the second round was dominated by seniors who had exhausted their eligibility and international players.

Only three college players with remaining eligibility went in Round 2: Duke’s Isaiah Evans at No. 33, Arkansas’ Meleek Thomas at No. 34 and North Carolina’s Henri Veesaar at No.

Fogle isn’t the only Zag drawing NBA attention. Sophomore big man Massamba Diop has also been popping up on offseason boards, with some outlets placing him inside the top 15.

That kind of buzz is a double-edged sword for Gonzaga. The Bulldogs would love to have both players back for their junior seasons, but it also wouldn’t be shocking if each pushes himself into the draft conversation. For Gonzaga to make a real run at a Final Four or national title, both would need to play at that level.

The next chance to see Fogle, Diop and the rest of the roster comes Saturday, Oct. 24, when Gonzaga faces Arkansas in an exhibition game. The time and TV/streaming details have not been announced.

Boise State Already Looms Large In Gonzagas Pac-12 Debut

Gonzagas move into the Pac-12 in 2026-27 will mark the end of a 46-year run in the West Coast Conference and bring a new weekly rhythm to a program that has long set the standard in its old league. The rebuilt Pac-12 will have nine programs, and the Bulldogs conference slate will include 16 games with home-and-away matchups, a setup that immediately raises the stakes for travel, familiarity and a lot more familiar opponents.

Among the games that stand out right away, Boise State feels like one that could carry extra weight for Gonzaga fans. The conference schedule also brings in Washington State, Colorado State, San Diego State and Utah State, giving the Bulldogs a different kind of map to follow in their new home and a fresh set of rivalries to sort out as the move gets closer. Gonzaga Women Enter The Pac-12 With A Chance To Take Over

The move into the Pac-12 gives Gonzaga womens basketball a rare mix of familiarity and ambition. The Bulldogs are bringing back 11 players from last season, along with more than 94% of their scoring, rebounding and minutes, which means a roster that already knew how to win together now gets a bigger stage to do it on.

Lauren Whittaker and Allie Turner remain the headliners after leading the team in scoring and drawing the bulk of last seasons accolades, and the early calendar will offer a first look at how that group handles the new challenge. Gonzaga opens with FanFest on Oct. 10, has an exhibition on Oct. 2 and starts the regular season Nov. 2, three dates that should quickly show whether this veteran core is ready to make noise right away.
