Lucai Anderson is taking his game to one of the sport’s biggest stages.
The Class of 2027 four-star guard announced Tuesday that he will spend his senior season at IMG Academy in Florida, giving the national powerhouse another high-end addition as Jackson Johnson continues reshaping the roster in his first run as head coach.
Anderson arrives from Trinity Christian in Texas, where he put together a big season and earned first team All State recognition after averaging a team-high 21.3 points and 4.9 rebounds per game. He now joins a wave of recent transfers headed to IMG, alongside Class of 2028 four-star Will Brunson, top-10 national talent and five-star 2027 wing Jordan Page, and 6-foot-7 rim attacker Josh Leonard.
At 6-foot-4, Anderson has built his reputation as a left-handed shot maker who knows how to pick his spots. He has a smooth perimeter stroke, a reliable midrange game, and enough craft around the rim to finish in traffic. He can also create off the dribble without needing much space to get to his shot.
His frame has also grown; Anderson is listed at 6-foot-5 and 190 pounds now, and that size shows up in transition, where he has become a dangerous open-floor finisher.
Recruiting-wise, Anderson already has a strong list of suitors. Texas Tech, Villanova, Georgia Tech, UCF, Arizona State, and others have extended offers, and the Red Raiders were in early after offering him this past spring. Anderson is also the younger brother of Christian Anderson, who starred at Texas Tech as an 18-point-per-game scorer before being taken No. 18 by the Charlotte Hornets in the 2026 NBA Draft.
He also arrives off a strong showing with Germany’s U-18 national team at the Albert Schweitzer Tournament in Mannheim, Germany. In that event, Anderson turned in efficient production, highlighted by a 24-point performance against Turkey in which he knocked down 5 of 9 from beyond the arc.
