The U.S. Presidents Cup roster is set, and Brandt Snedeker’s group comes loaded with star power, proven team-event performers and a couple of wild cards.
The 12-man squad will take on the International team at Medinah Country Club outside Chicago later this month, from Sept. 24-27.
At the top of the board is Scottie Scheffler, still the No. 1 player in the world and fresh off another huge stretch. He won the Tour Championship and FedEx Cup last weekend in Atlanta, then added the first playoff event in Memphis last month. This will be Scheffler’s third Presidents Cup, and he enters with a career record of 3-5-1.
Cameron Young is back for a second run after being a captain’s pick in 2022. He’s put together a strong 2026 PGA Tour season, winning the Players Championship in March and the Cadillac Championship in May. He also pushed hard at the British Open before finishing second behind Ryan Fox.
Wyndham Clark returns for his second Presidents Cup after winning his second U.S. Open in dominant wire-to-wire fashion last June at Shinneock. In the 2024 event in Montreal, he posted a 1-2-1 record as the U.S. cruised to victory.
Sam Burns is in the mix for a third time, earning his spot off solid play over the last two years. He hasn’t won during that stretch, but he’s been right there in majors, finishing second at the U.S. Open last June and third at the British Open in July.
Russell Henley has been one of the steadiest names in the game lately. He won the Charles Schwab Classic in May, then finished fourth at the Tour Championship last weekend. In the 2024 Presidents Cup, he went 3-1.
Collin Morikawa will suit up for the third time, and he has been a reliable point producer in these events. The two-time major winner is 6-2 overall in Presidents Cup play and remains one of the U.S. team’s most dependable iron players.
Snedeker’s captain’s picks round out the roster with a mix of experience and upside. Chris Gotterup, 27, has won four times on the PGA Tour in the last 14 months and is now ranked seventh in the world. This will be his first Presidents Cup.
Xander Schauffele is heading to his fourth Presidents Cup, and his record speaks for itself: 10-4-0 over three appearances. Even without a PGA Tour win this past season, he still logged seven top-10 finishes, including T9 at the Masters and T7 at the PGA Championship.
Justin Thomas also makes his fourth Presidents Cup team. He’s been a central figure for Team USA in these events, going 10-3-2 while helping the Americans win three Presidents Cups. He has one PGA Tour win in the last two years.
Patrick Cantlay joins Schauffele in making a fourth Presidents Cup appearance. He owns a 10-4-0 record in the event and has been a steady force in team competition.
Jacob Bridgeman was one of Snedeker’s more surprising selections, but his credentials are strong. The 26-year-old from South Carolina is the best putter on the PGA Tour and won at Riviera Country Club earlier this year. He closed the season with a ninth-place finish at the BMW Championship and a T4 at the Tour Championship.
Then there’s Jackson Koivun, the 21-year-old former Auburn star who has turned a breakout year into a Presidents Cup debut. He won his first professional event this summer and added another victory at the 3M Open in July, which had plenty of people pushing for him to get the call.
On the other side, Geoff Ogilvy’s International team also brings plenty of recognizable names, including Si Woo Kim, Hideki Matsuyama, Ryan Fox, Tom Kim, Min Woo Lee, Adam Scott, Corey Conners, Nico Echavarria, Nick Taylor, Sungjae Im, Ryo Hisatsune and Christiaan Bezuidenhout.
