Colt Knost Joins CBS Golf Tower Team With a Major 2026 Role

Colt Knost takes a major step in his broadcasting career as CBS Sports elevates his role for the 2026 PGA Tour season.

There’s a new voice headed to the CBS Sports golf booth in 2026 - and it’s one that fans have come to know and appreciate from the fairways. Colt Knost, the former PGA Tour pro turned broadcaster, is officially making the leap from on-course reporter to full-time booth analyst. Starting next season, he’ll join Jim Nantz, Trevor Immelman, and Frank Nobilo in the CBS Sports Super Tower, bringing his unique blend of insight, energy, and personality to one of golf’s most iconic broadcast crews.

This move marks a significant step for Knost, who’s been steadily building his broadcasting résumé since joining CBS Golf in 2019. Initially working select events as an on-course voice, he transitioned into a full-time role in 2021, quickly becoming a fan favorite for his candid commentary and deep understanding of the game. Now, he’ll trade in his walking shoes for a seat in the tower, where his chemistry with the team and sharp eye for the game will be on full display.

“Colt has become a valued voice on our team, bringing insight, energy and his engaging personality to every broadcast,” said Harold Bryant, CBS Sports’ executive producer and executive vice president of production. “Elevating him alongside Jim, Trevor, and Frank in our Super Tower is a natural next step that reflects the trust and respect he's earned.”

It’s a well-deserved promotion for Knost, who brings a player’s perspective and a broadcaster’s charisma - a rare combo that resonates with both longtime golf fans and casual viewers. His transition to the booth feels like a natural evolution, especially given how seamlessly he’s connected with audiences from the course. He’s not just calling shots - he’s explaining the "why" behind them, offering viewers that extra layer of context that elevates a broadcast.

The new-look CBS team will kick off its 2026 PGA Tour coverage on Saturday, January 31, with the Farmers Insurance Open, airing on CBS and Paramount+. From there, the season builds toward its crescendo in August, with CBS set to broadcast the third and fourth rounds of all three FedEx Cup Playoff events, including the Tour Championship.

Knost, clearly fired up about the opportunity, took to social media to share his excitement:

“All I can say is wow!

This is by far the biggest honor of my golf career! Can’t wait to be up in the Super Tower with Jim, Trevor, and my man Frank!

Torrey Pines can't get here fast enough! Let’s get this party started!”

It’s a big moment for Knost, and an exciting shift for CBS’s golf coverage. With his voice now part of the weekly booth rotation, fans can expect a fresh, informed, and entertaining perspective right alongside the steady presence of Nantz, the sharp analysis of Immelman, and the global insight of Nobilo. The Super Tower just got a little more fun - and a lot more dynamic.
