Warriors Suddenly Have A Porzingis Concern They Can't Yet Explain

Steve Kerr addresses the uncertainty surrounding Kristaps Porzingis's health status as the Warriors grapple with his absence early in the season.

The Warriors still don’t have a full read on Kristaps Porzingis’ situation, but Steve Kerr at least put one firm detail on the board: the big man is headed to Chase Center to meet with the team’s medical and performance staff.

That was the clearest update Kerr has offered since Porzingis started dealing with the health issue. The rest remains murky. Golden State has stayed in contact with the veteran center, but the team still doesn’t know exactly what kind of health problem he is working through or when he might be able to rejoin the group.

“Kerr says he's been in contact with Porzingis as he continues to recover. It remains unclear exactly what kind of health issue Porzingis is dealing with and the Warriors are unsure when he will be able to be back around the team," The Athletic's Nick Friedell wrote.

On Monday, the latest news pointed to an in-person meeting with the people who handle that side of things for the Warriors. “Warriors head coach Steve Kerr says Kristaps Porzingis will be in Chase Center tomorrow to meet with Rick Celebrini and the performance team,” NBA insider Brett Siegel wrote.

Golden State is already operating with a thin margin, and the expectation is that Porzingis may not be ready when the season opens. For now, the team is leaning on contact, evaluation, and patience while it waits for more clarity.

Draymond Green also spoke on Porzingis recently and made it clear the team is behind him. “He will probably come back and then it will be like, 'Oh, y'all know he came back' like we know he can.

I think that happens at the same time. I don't think it's necessarily a timeline of return.

So I think people will continue to ask this question for weeks on end and the answer is going to be the same and so I don't think it's the reason to keep asking the question, but needless to say, definitely sending well wishes to Porzingis and praying for him as he tries to recover from whatever it is that he's dealing with,” Green said.

The hope inside Golden State is simple: the issue proves manageable, Porzingis gets answers after seeing the performance staff, and he makes his way back before long. Until then, the Warriors are left waiting.

Warriors Face An Opening Night Luka Problem Kerr Must Solve

Steve Kerrs opening-night lineup plans already hint at how thin the Warriors margin may be when the Lakers arrive with Luka Doncic in the spotlight. Kerr has floated a small group built around Stephen Curry, Brandin Podziemski, Gui Santos, Yaxel Lendeborg and Draymond Green, a look that says as much about the rosters available bodies as it does about the coaching staffs confidence in pace and versatility.

The bigger issue is how Golden State absorbs Doncic without a clean one-on-one answer for him. With key players unavailable because of injury, the Warriors are short on natural perimeter defenders, which makes the decision more complicated than simply assigning a stopper. Kerr and his staff have to choose between trusting single coverage or sending help early, and opening night could hinge on which approach they settle on. [Read more 🡒]

Draymond Green Had A Blunt Response To Viral Camp Chatter

A viral social media post about Draymond Greens appearance at camp quickly made the rounds, with the focus landing on whether the Warriors forward had added weight. Green had a simple explanation for why the shirt looked the way it did, pushing back on the chatter and framing the whole thing as a matter of optics more than condition.

For Golden State, the bigger takeaway is familiar: Green is not interested in spending time on outside criticism, and he said he feels he is in decent shape for where he wants to be right now. It is the kind of blunt response that has long defined him, even when the conversation starts with something as routine as camp photos and ends with his usual no-nonsense shrug at the noise. Steph Curry Showed Up For A Big Family Moment After Turmoil

After a stretch of very public family tension, the Currys had something far different to celebrate: Sonya Currys wedding, with Steph Curry among the relatives on hand for the occasion. Photos shared on social media showed the family marking the moment together, a reminder that even amid years of speculation and scrutiny, the Curry name still carries a strong family presence off the court.

Sonya has also recently addressed the rumors that have lingered around her past divorce, asking for privacy as old claims continue to resurface. For Steph and the Warriors, the on-court focus may always come first, but this was one of those personal milestones that matters just as much to the people inside the family circle. [Read more 🡒]
