The Golden State Warriors are eyeing opportunities to bolster their roster as the postseason looms. With one roster spot still open, the Warriors have the chance to explore the buyout market for potential additions. However, one player they won't be landing is veteran point guard Mike Conley.
Conley has found a home with the Minnesota Timberwolves for the remainder of the season. According to HoopsHype’s Michael Scotto, Conley has been averaging 9.2 points, shooting an impressive 41.3% from beyond the arc, along with 4.7 assists and 1.0 steals per game over four seasons with Minnesota.
After a brief stint with the Charlotte Hornets, who acquired him on February 3rd and waived him shortly after, Conley hit the buyout market. Despite not being the explosive point guard of his younger years, Conley remains a respected figure in the league. His reputation as a savvy veteran who brings leadership and experience is well-earned.
This season with the Timberwolves, Conley's numbers include 4.4 points and 2.9 assists per game, with shooting percentages of 32.2% from the field and 32.1% from three-point range. While he could have been a seasoned addition to the Warriors, it seems the stars didn't align for a union with Stephen Curry and the crew this time around.
