The Warriors are expected to move on from Dalen Terry, according to league sources who spoke to Brett Siegel of ClutchPoints.
Terry arrived in Golden State on a non-guaranteed Exhibit 10 deal for training camp, putting him in position to fight for a roster spot without any real long-term security. He signed the agreement in late August and got into five preseason games for the Warriors this fall, playing 14.0 minutes per night and posting 6.4 points, 3.4 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 1.2 steals while shooting .480/.500/.667.
Even with the reported plan to waive him, Siegel says the Warriors like Terry and that the 24-year-old is likely to begin the season with Santa Cruz, Golden State’s G League affiliate. If he stays there for at least 60 days, he can earn a bonus worth up to $91K.
Terry has already covered a lot of ground in four NBA seasons since going 18th overall in the 2022 draft. The former Arizona standout had trouble locking down a steady role over three-and-a-half years with the Bulls, who dealt him to New York before the February deadline. New York immediately sent him on to New Orleans, and the Pelicans later waived him.
The 6’6″ guard/forward then landed with Philadelphia on a two-way contract in February, just days after New Orleans let him go. In April, the 76ers converted that two-way deal into a two-year standard contract so he could be eligible to play in the 2026 playoffs.
Philadelphia initially picked up Terry’s minimum-salary team option for 2026/27, but because the salary was fully non-guaranteed, the team waived him when it had to clear space under the hard cap to officially sign LeBron James.
His reported exit also improves Brandon Williams’ chances of cracking Golden State’s regular-season roster. Williams, the former Mavericks guard, would still have a non-guaranteed salary through January even if he remains on the Warriors’ standard roster next week.

Jordan Poole's Fresh Start Already Feels Uncomfortably Familiar
Jordan Pooles preseason with New Orleans has offered a little of everything except certainty. He has looked good in the exhibition games, but the early read on his fit has been complicated by the Pelicans crowded backcourt and the fact that he seems to be sitting low in the guard rotation, where minutes are not exactly easy to come by.
For a player arriving with the idea of a fresh start, the setup already carries a familiar kind of pressure. New Orleans has multiple guards ahead of him, including both veterans and younger options, and that could leave Poole in a limited role once the games start to count. Add in the size of his contract, and it is easy to see why there is already chatter about whether the front office might eventually look at a trade. [Read more 🡒]
Draymond Green Gives Warriors Fans Another Reason To Worry
The Warriors wrapped up the preseason with a 128-118 win over the Trail Blazers and a 4-2 mark, but the night still had one familiar flashpoint attached to Draymond Green. He was active in limited minutes, finishing with six rebounds, four assists and two steals in 12 minutes, while Stephen Curry led Golden State with 20 points.
What will linger a little longer for Warriors fans is the technical Green picked up after arguing with officials following an overturned call involving Curry. Even in a game that went Golden States way, it was another reminder of how quickly Green can get pulled into the kind of exchanges that tend to follow him into the regular season. [Read more 🡒]
Steve Kerr Had The Perfect Reaction To A Wild Courtside Lookalike
Steve Kerr had a preseason moment worth a closer look during Golden States game against the Portland Trail Blazers, and it had nothing to do with a play on the floor. The Warriors coach was caught on camera spotting a fan in the crowd who looked strikingly like him, and the surprised reaction quickly became its own highlight from the night.
The man in the stands was Steve Gillis, who has drawn attention before for his resemblance to Kerr and has even spoken publicly about it. The clip spread fast online, giving the Warriors another offseason talking point, this one coming from a courtside lookalike instead of a box score. [Read more 🡒]
