Investigative journalist Pablo Torre says Kawhi Leonard’s murky business ties with the Los Angeles Clippers may not stop at the Aspiration scandal.
Torre, who first broke the Aspiration story in the summer of 2025, has now uncovered what he says is another hidden arrangement connected to Leonard and the Clippers. This latest revelation centers on Daktronics, the company behind one of the Intuit Dome’s signature features: the massive circular Halo Board.
The Clippers moved into the Intuit Dome in August 2024, and the arena’s double-sided 4K halo-shaped video screen quickly became one of its biggest calling cards. But according to Torre’s sources, Daktronics is part of a separate issue that raises even more questions about how Leonard was being compensated.
From Torre’s reporting, Leonard had a hidden multimillion-dollar “sponsorship” with Daktronics. That would add another layer to the broader concern that the Clippers were funneling extra money to Leonard beyond his contract and the alleged Aspiration deal.
“This Kawhi deal was not just talked about by higher-ups with the Clippers to circumvent the salary cap... This second source was also told that Kawhi's Daktronics sponsorship was a multimillion-dollar deal,” Torre revealed on his Pablo Torre Finds Out show.
The latest allegation puts the Clippers back in the spotlight, and it also keeps the Raptors in the conversation because of the player they never got.
